PC vs. Xbox Max Payne?

I would like feedback from people who have played both the PC version and the Xbox version. How do the graphics and gameplay compare? I know it's a bit of a biased question beings Xbox is T.V. and PC is whatever resolution you want as well as this being a first generation Xbox game etc.. I've been an avid PC gamer for years now and instead of upgrading my 1ghz AMD GF2, I decided to purchase an Xbox along with this game. I thought I'd also pass along this other item which will allow you to plug your Xbox into your monitor - for $50 it can't be beat!

Well, I played the xbox version, and the ps2 version...just isn't the same. It all depends on how you played it first, I guess. Personally I think it was meant for PC, but that's just me. images/icons/grin.gif

And you can't use any mods in the console versions. Plus there are terrible framerates at times, but depending on your PC you'll get those anyway.

Identical, except that TV is lower res than you can do on your computer.

Max for the XBox is very, very good. It's better than the PS2 version in that it's a little faster, and the PS2 had to lose a few visual effects for framerate and memory.

As for control - it's as good as you can get on a console controller. We spent a couple of weeks alone just tweaking the conrols, so Max plays very well.

I have and am currently playing both the PC and the XBox versions of Max Payne.

As far as graphics, I have a HD TV with the High Definition connection kit so the graphics are the best I've seen.

I have noticed some minor differences in the PC and XBox versions as far as some pick-ups and different doors, but you get to the same place.

I have experienced a bug on the XBox version. When restarting the game...If I click on "Resume Game" from the Start Menu the game runs fine. BUT if I choose to go to the Load Sub Menu and load from there Max has some screwy things happening.

Max will run to the left uncontrollably no matter what I try to do to correct it or try to get him to stop with the console.

I figured out that if I run him around to different areas, like into a different room, this will usually stop this behavior. This same bug happened with two different consoles, so I eliminated a bad control console.

I did email support to advise them of this but have not heard back as of yet. I don't think that there's anything they can do for me anyway, it's not like I can apply a patch to the XBox game.

Anyway after all that which one do I prefer?
