Hey, i've been looking forward to this game since it was announced. I want to know, got two questions..
1) What is up with the portals? They all seem to fade in or pop-in at a certain distance, and I really don't like this. Will it come into effect with the full version?
2) What will the average framerate be on the 360 version? Last I heard their aim was 30 FPS, but i'd like to see 60. Can soemone tell me?

not being rude, but some of the screens show doors between rooms that look like a certain part of a females reproduction organ ...aheemmm.. honestly check out some of those screens and pay attention to those vagi... I mean doors ;) Im a designer and its a pretty clever way to come up with a concept for a door, after all we still as men, came out of it once, and we certainly try hella hard to get in them :censored: .

The portals pop in because they are openend instantly by the AI (player can't do that afaik). There was never a shot with so much distance in it that stuff had to be cut out. :)

From what I can guess from the videos the fixed portals are drawn as black circles when viewed from a distance. When you get close enough, you can see through. The portals that are popping in and out are for spawning enemies.
XBox version will get (a steady) 30 fps (60 would be really pushing it!)

This might be a bit out dated but there is still truth in the facts...

Read and learn...
Yep that was interesting. And a game at high framerates is always better than 30 FPS. But if at high FPS, if you have many drop of FPS, then it's bad.

Look, I don't want this to turn into a big huge debate about 30 fps vs 60 fps, but I have always seen a difference. 30 fps on average is great, but i'll just feel worried if the 360 can't do much more then that. I know for sure that Prey will be able to do 60 fps.
And 30 fps is nice with an average, but that doesn't mean it's going to be 30 all the time. If it's locked at 30, that's fine. But 60 would be a lot nicer.
Anyway, about the portals. When I said "pop-in", I was talking about when portals would be black from a distance, and they would all of a sudden show the other side of the portal.

I made a portal on build, not sure just how. you walk forwards you turn around and you walk through the portal.
