Is the source code of the 3D Realms Setup Utility available somewhere?
In the Duke3D source code notes, George Broussard and Scott Miller said they can't find the source code of this stuff. 3 years passed since the Duke3D source release, so I hope they found the sources of the setup program.

I used to have the source code for this back in 2000... I pretty much just e-mailed the original programmer about it and got a reply back with a zip attached. Unfortunately, due to how long ago it was, I've since lost the archive, leaving me only with the customized binaries I made when I was in possession of it.

Monolith used it for Blood, Xatrix used it for RR, so they might have a copy of the source, right?

Well, I started to make a game built on the BUILD engine and the Apogee Sound System. Only a very basic setup program incuded with the BUILD source code, so that's why I want to use the 3DR Setup app... :dopefish:
But looks like I need to write my own setup program...

No. I'm using the standard BUILD software renderer, and this game is for DOS.
That's right, for DOS! :dopefish:
But I planned to port it to Linux/windows.

I have the source to this program (I think its 1.0 version) as well as the source to commit. Back in 03, I read that 3dr didnt have it so I sent the sources to Joe then. Im not sure if I can release it though.
As for it not being released, I dont know, about that time the 2 major source ports at the time already had thier own setups, it might have been deemed redundant.

That's good - the code isn't lost. :)
But I don't know why they not put it to the Shadow Warrior source code release.
But I think because they had problems with compiling this stuff with Open Watcom, and they don't have time to modify it.
(IIRC the COMMIT source code released already.)
