I discovered a movement bug in the DOS version of SW (compiled from the source code): when I press the move forward/backward and the strafe left/right key together, the player moves much faster than the normal running speed.
Does anyone noticed this bug? Is there any way to fix it? :confused:

You'll actually find many older FPS games do this. Hell, some newer ones still do it....

Hmmm... Really. I checked out Duke3D and Blood, and both games do this. :doh:

Its not a 'feature' its just how they happened to do the movement. Just like how in certain games 'bunny hopping' isn't really an intended feature, but they just didn't bother to change it.

It's not so much something they couldn't be bothered to do something about, as it is pretty much the most basic part of the movement programming, and fixing it would mean redoing all that programming completely.
It's just an unforeseen consequence of the way things are programmed.
It works in Doom as well, so I somewhat doubt Ken didn't know about it when he made Build, but this is probably just the simplest way of programming it.
