I like the thing with a game story centered around an evil drug (anyone played Rise Of The Dragon?). All the junkie stuff gives the game lots of cool atmosphere, but, when you think about it, what kind of stupid drug is Valkyr actually?
In the real world, junkies would definitely try it -- even if the effect was exactly the same as any other drug. But why would someone -- like that boss woman in MP -- want to develop a drug that makes people totally wacked and dangerous to other people and themselves? The ultimate drug for a dealer is something that's expensive and addictive but not destructive and unhealthy. Even Heroin is a better deal for a dealer than Valkyr (assuming that Valkyr addiction and market price is the same as smack).
From a reality perspective, I don't see the "sensation" Valkyr is causing in Max Payne. Do the real world NYC gangs spray "Heroin" on every brick wall they can find?! images/icons/rolleyes.gif
That said, I do think Valkyr gives the game and its story an atmosphere that wouldn't be possible with an old real world drug.
