I wish the good people of 3D Realms would decide to make a sequel to this one, some time during the next-gen console cycle would be nice.
Shadow Warrior 2 could be absolutely awesome because to this day I still consider shadow warrior as one of the most funny FPS games of all time.
Their are still some funny sound samples from an interviex with Lo Wang right here (http://www.3drealms.com/sw/lowang.html)
Lo Wang come for you tiny grasshopper :)
Let them finish DNF first.

There has been so many discussions over the years in reagards to a Shadow Warrior sequel. The answer will, and mostly likely always be: There will be no sequel. Ever. The game wasn't popular enough.
But I'd still love one as I'm a big fan of Shadow Warrior. :D

If there was one, I'd like to see it hit the Wii (Swordfighting :D ). Though I dont see how it'd be PC too then...
EDIT: Maybe if we get like 1000 of us to start flooding the forums with SW2 related stuff they'll give in and start it :p

Actually a bad original doesn't always mean a sequel won't be made.
Sometimes a bad original can actually even be followed by a good sequel (no examples at the top of my head).
Of course I don't think 3DR is the kind of company that does that.
3DR has enough guts to try and create their own IP as opposed to using some big US movie license (the former actually do better than the latter if they end up good games, so these gambles can pay off), but I they won't take the chance to re-use an IP that wasn't all that popular.
(The above sentence is what I'm thinking, which isn't necesarily the truth.)
In case anyone's wondering; I like Shadow Warrior as well.

I need to play the damn first game first... :(
That, and Duke Nukem Atomic edition (regular edition with just 3 episodes just isn't enough :()
That'll probably be among the games i'll get soon...

Noone said that Shadow Warrior was considered to be a crappy game. There's a difference between a decent game that wasn't popular enough and a crappy, unpopular game. Has anyone ever played System Shock? It sold less than 100,000 copies, but it was widely regarded to be better than Doom II, which came out at the same time. Strangely, everyone ignored System Shock and bought Doom II instead. I think the reason why stuff like that happened back in the mid-'90s was because everyone assumed that any first-person shooter that wasn't from id or 3D Realms was "just another crappy Doom clone". System Shock was from a relatively unknown developer named Looking Glass Studios, so that probably led people to ignore it.
Needless to say, I really loved Shadow Warrior. I thought it was even better than Duke3D, and I couldn't believe that it sold so poorly. That's too bad, because 3D Realms would've started making a sequel in no time if it was as popular as it deserved to be.

im also a big fan of shadow warrior (imho:shadow warrior is still one of the gratest games ever made! because the level design tops a lot of modern shooters plus the Asiatic-Ninja theme is totally cool)but i can understand that the decision to make a sequel to a game thats sold badly is really difficult (espacially in our "new" times...) but maybe the guys at 3d realms allows the community to creating a Shadow warrior mod for the next gen titles like Prey?!! however i still hope that there will be an SW2 someday! maybe by another company...
if someone interested to start a shadow warrior mod with me (my skills are texturing, level design) please contact me! :)

A shadow warrior mod, for prey nonetheless, could be cool.

Noone said that Shadow Warrior was considered to be a crappy game. (...) Has anyone ever played System Shock? (...) I know no one said SW is a crappy game; I also read the thread. :)
I wasn't saying that myself either... since you were quoting me.
Anyway, System Shock is one of the games I wish I'd played back in the day.
It's probably not really playable anymore after being spoiled with modern games; the game looked complicated back then already, but perhaps that's just ignorance talking.
As for Duke Nukem 3D, actually the first thing I thought when it was announced was: "Oh great, another Doom clone... this is getting really boring... and with Duke Nukem????"
After reading rave reviews I downloaded the demo, twice (CompuServe quit at 99%) played it, loved it, and I bought the game as soon as it came out. :)
Barely even looked at Quake because of that, it just felt boring.
Shadow Warrior isn't Duke Nukem 3D, but it's not bad either, it's just different, to fall back to the old cliché.

There seems to be an opinion that Shadow Warrior was a failure. That was incorrect. Shadow Warrior made money. Did it sell as many as Wolfenstein 3D & DUke Nukem 3D? I don't believe so.
But some people seem to hold a belief that SW was a failure simply because it didn't sell as well as Duke 3D.
And no, I don't believe we've ever said how many copies it sold - remember not everything is information meant for the public. We after all are a private company. :)
The truth is that Shadow Warrior, only in recent years, has found a ravenous niche among South American PC users, particularly in Brazil; some of the highest-rated TV programs are sports broadcasts highlighting Shadow Warrior deathmatches, complete with highly enthusiastic commentary.
A Lo Wang Noticia is a weekly half-hour program on Brazil's Rede Globo television network that highlights various tournaments, user maps and mods.
Since it emerged, the money made from this particular demographic has single-handedly been funding Duke Nukem Forever. A reliable statistic of revenue is unavailable, although some analysts place the amount somewhere between 10 to 15 zillion dollars.

I just keep hoping that someday 3DR would come up with a similar game with the same kind of wacky humor and gameplay that graced shadow warrior, because to this day SW remains one of my all time favourite FPS-games and if it were possible to run the game under windows xp I would still play it from time to time, but no such luck.

Press the hotkey for the rocket launcher again (like selecting the expander from the shrinker in DN3D Atomic). When Heatseaker is selected a "Heat" logo will light up on the rocket launcher, and for Nuke the sight will fold down and a female voice will say "ready" or something like that.
This is really awesome. Thanks. :D
