Upon starting a new game, I get a huge amount of black hatching which makes the game difficult to see and play. I think the textures are not completing or something.
My video card is on the very edge of what's acceptable, but the game runs fine; I can move around at an acceptable speed and do see the world, just with a stange black filter.
Radion Xpress 200
Catalyst 06.4
128 MB
3/21/06
8.241.0.0
896 MB ram (Radion rips off 128 MB)
2.39 GHz
XP Home

Hmm... the block grouping looks like it follows the shading pattern..
at least it's not your hardware overheating.
Try getting latest video drivers, OR go back a version.
also, check out this lovely tweak guide, it may hold some answers

the 6.4 catalyst rounds are confirmed to work with the game perfectly fine, so those are good to go off of.
What pixel shader does your GPU use?
