After a level has loaded i have stuttering for about 5 minutes. This means I miss most of the dialogue near the beginning because it is totally unintelligible. All the sounds seem to stutter for me. I also get stuttering after saving my game but only for a minute or so.

My System:
Pentium 4 2.4ghz processor.
ATI Radeon 9700pro Graphics Card.
Creative, Audigy 2 Zx
1024mb of ram
Pleanty of space on my Hard Drive (88gb)
Windows XP Sp2

I have already tried updating my sound/graphics drivers. I also have the latest Direct X installed. None of these have helped.

I enjoyed playing the demo; it would be nice to be able to understand what the characters are saying. At the moment I don’t think I’m going to buy the game until I can find a fix for this bug, which annoys me as I can’t wait to play the full game. But it would ruin too much of the game if I couldn’t understand the story due to missing dialogue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any sort of anti virus running? Also make sure you have the newest sound card drivers. Is there hitching in the performance or is it only the sound that stutters?

Hi !

i also have exact the same troubles like Jenn0_Bing. I have the same setup only a AMD2400 instead of an Intel. I tried to turn of the Antivirus soft and any other tasks. Also i switched to 800x600 resolution with all graphic settings off to ensure that this isnt a performance thing. All my drivers are up to date and i have no problems with other games. Perhabs the Audigy2 ZS will be the thing that matters here, there are some problems with crackling popping noises. Many users out there have tweaked the the pci delay or something to get rid off that problem. Dont sure if this is helpfull, perhabs it gives you a direction.

If you are running with OpenAL enabled, you can try disabling it in the Audio options menu to see if that solves the stutter problem. Let us know either way.

I have tried turning off OpenAl, it didnt help though. Ive also tried a few of the Doom3 Engine optimisations that have been talked about but they didnt help either.
