Only 12hrs? As much as I like my only gaming as I play on Xbox Live parting with Ģ40 online price/ (Ģ50rrp store price) is a bit hefty.
But I suppose 12hrs is about average for a fps - but isnt half life 2 longer?
HL2 is around 12 hours as well.
well in half life 2 you die alot but in prey you always have the chance to escape the spiritworld when you die, meaning you donīt have to start from last save. without the features i mentioned above prey would be as long or even longer than half life2, and also 12hrs is a guess and i spend two hours playing through the demo trying out evrything like the arcades in jens bar and playing around with the portals.
Edit: wow posted same time as ADM but he was a second faster ;)

The time given is if you walk through the game without dying ;) Else it takes a lot longer. ;) It is also based on a somewhat average game. :)

Emm considering apparently the latest tomb raider from what I have been told is about that apparently - please correct me its 2-3gb to install?
PREY on the other hand emm maybe 4.5gb? Thats a lot of hard drive space if you think about it. I guess for the 360 version its around 6gb? As its running off the disc.

I have never come across any fps games that are 5-6gb to install - Half Life 2 wasnt that, is F.E.A.R that?

The last Tomb Raider (Legend) is around 8.6 GB installed
As long as Prey is not bigger than 10 GB I wouldn't even notice it probably :P

F.E.A.R is huge, my HL2 folders in over 7gigs, and I don't have the episode one pack. Lemme check what size F.E.A.R is and I'll get back to ya.

Ok F.E.A.R was 4.5 gigs. I Still think Prey will be bigger.

F.E.A.R. 5.47GB of space (fully updated 1.05v), and to tell you the truth i don't think Prey will come close to this size.

Why do you think this?

We KNOW what the size is it says so in the system requirments page, Prey is a 2.2 GB game(or alteast that is what it rerquires).

Im just thinking it will run just a bit under 5-4 because of other sizes of Doom3 and Quake 4 (You at least have to take that in consideration). Which were close to about 3GB, and I know this is supposed to be a enhanced version of the Doom3 engine.

So why is tomb raider 8.5gb, fear is far less am confused, PREY is much later game so if its far better from what i can clearly see better than tomb raider but then aarrrghh how is it one is bigger than the other is it because tomb raider is 30hrs long and PREY will be 5gb cos its 12hrs???

Prey = Doom 3 engine + PK4 = small size

From what I can gather Prey should last you anywhere from 12-20 hours depending on your playing style.
Prey should last you about the average length of a modern FPS (roughly 15 hours for normal gamers) as long as you aren't a power gamer. If you rip through the game only to complete objectives and you don't stop to smell the burning flesh then you'll probably make short work of Prey, as you would any other FPS.

Exactly!! The whole game is compressed... thats why the small 2.2 gb size. But that doesnt mean that the game is smaller or shorter in length. And the question about Tomb Raider Legend. Its bout 7gb big for me with the "next gen" graphics installed, and about 4gb without. So the size is much bout all the high res textures and stuff that has to be included. And in tombraider there are two sets of textures.. next gen, and current gen textures... i think.. not sure... :)

HL2 is around 12 hours as well.
It depends on your playstyle. Lots of people were able to get 20 hours out of it.

Scott or George... or maybe it was Tim from HH... somebody mentioned a estimated playtime for the game. It was about 12 to 15 hours.
I'm guessing PREY will be slightly longer than FEAR, but again based on playstyle it could be much shorter or much longer. I managed to get almost 20 hours out of FEAR... so I could make PREY a pretty long game.

I think games are too short these days especially FPS games especially given the fact on how much they cost.

HL2 is around 12 hours as well.
It took me 7h 13min to finish HL2 (not for the first time of course). Almost no playing with physics and without using knowledge and/or tricks that would unnaturally speed up the progress.
