Alright, my guess is XFi Soundcard?
"openal32.dll"
Go to creative.com and get the new BETA Xfi Driver which supports OpenAl 1.1

Make sure your nForce drivers are up to date. You can also try getting the latest openal from openal.org.

you were right, I have update nvidia audio drivers and now it's fine !!! thanks a lot, this game is really fun !!
But I have an other question, maybe you know about : after 15 mn playing I have a terrible headache like the refresh rate is 60 hz, is it possible to change this to 85 hz ?

Some Googling tells me that you might be able to add the line "seta r_displayRefresh "85"" to your Prey config file in order to achieve the effect you want. You can also typically force the refresh via your video card's drivers or via third party applications. Post back here to let us know if the r_displayRefresh thing works.

it "seems" that editing cfg file works for me. Refresh rate is normal now !!!

Last thing about the demo, my mouse sensibility is not sufficient ie I need to make big moves to focus on differents points of the screen.
Is it possible to change this in game ?

Yes, from the main menu, go to Options, Game Options, and select the Feel tab. There is a slider for controlling mouse sensitivity there.

Hello,
when i start Prey, I'm having the following error message :
AppName: prey.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: openal32.dll
ModVer: 5.10.2937.0 Offset: 000086ac
I went here : www.openal.org and i download "OpenAL 1.1 Installer for Windows" but when i want to install it, it say : Some OpenAl files were in use -- a reboot will be required to complete installation.
I restarted my computer and it didn't want to install. I tried too in safe mode but it is similar.
My computer :
AMD XP 2600+
1024 mo ddr
Motherboard : NFII Ultra-AL - nForce2 MCP (integrated sound card)
GeForce 4 6600 Gt
Thx.
