As far as I know, the only way to get the bombs is either to cheat into the levels (use F10+W and then type level number), or start a new game. Every level that contains the bombs will have a message appearing when you enter it that warns you to not leave them behind.

there is also the items cheat (F10+I)
but otherwise, you're pretty much SOL

Here's a list of level numbers, level names, and the amount of bombs you can find there:
2, The Melon Mines: 3
4, Rhubarb Rapids: 3
7, Spud City: 6
9, Apple Acres: 6
10, Grape Grove: 3
14, Squash Swamp: 3
That's 24 in total, and you only need 12 to defeat the potato, so you really only need to find half of them.

one thing I never understood about keens dreams is why they exspected any one to order it after giving away all of it free I mean as a kid (as I was when it came out) why would you pay for somthing that you alredy had??

Before the Apogee model, shareware usually meant "try before you buy". As in, try the whole game before you buy. You got a complete game, and you were on your honor to pay for it if you found it useful.

Exactly. Remember, Keen Dreams was a Softdisk game, and they operated differently.
