I have purchased wolfenstein 3d from the Apogee/3drealms store. But I'm still searching for the old wolfenstein 3d v1.0 release. Unfortunatally I cannot find this game anywhere else. Do someone have any idea where to buy v1.0? I tried to find it on ebay without resaults. I'm looking for this game over years but couldn't find it. Please can you help me.

That version hasn't been sold since May of 1992. The v1.4 has been in distribution since Dec of 1992. No one will still be "selling" the original build anymore.

There's honestly no reason to want that other than to say "I have v1.0". The game is the same.

But I would like to have this game nevertheless gladly. Please help me to get it. The difference in the data files is the graphic “aardwolf” that changed to “snappity” in later versions. For this reason I want the v1.0 of the game.

That a fact? I swear its the same in every version i've seen. I spent quite a long time digging through the art files of wolf3D too.

I can't help for one huge reason.

We don't have that version anymore. That came out before I started working here, and the concept of archving things was a virtual non issue before I started.

Secondly, it's not legal to copy/distribute registered versions of the game, anyway.

You'll have no trouble finding the shareware version, though. My site, and many others, has archived shareware v1.0.

But you are the copyright owner I think. You are distributing wolfenstein 3d v1.4. Why it is illegally for you distributing version 1.0? I'm also not interested in shareware versions of games generally.

It wouldn't be illegal for them, but it would be illegal for any third party. Joe says he doesn't have a copy to sell even if he wanted to, so that pretty much limits you to third parties unless you have a friend at id.

It's not illegal for us. It's illegal FOR YOU. Besides, as I said, we don't have it anymore.

I always wanted to call apogee and say aardwolf, but my dad didn't like me playing the game:( He tolled me "Stick to Duke Nukum, even I like to play sometimes, Besides we don't need that kind of stuff in here."

If you tried calling our tech support now and saying Aardwolf, you'd get a premade line of text asbout "That was for a contest that was abandonded late in the game's development".

And the tech guy would probably be thinking "You think you're the first person to find that in the 14 years the game has been out?" :D :D :D

Where the full version of Wolfenstein v1.0 can be bought from? I have the Wolfenstein version 1.4g on CD-ROM from the 3D-Realms Online Store but I'm still searching for v1.0.

what there saying is you cant get it unless you find a original disk someware that has 1.0 on it for sale used then your out of luck I have seen modified vershons floting around the net mabey somone who is making a mod for the game could point you to one but realy man whats the point in haveing v1.0 the only difrenc that I know of is the super secret elivator crashes the game insted of going to a secret level

Go ask the guys at id Software (http://www.idsoftware.com) then. They made the game.

No body carries old builds of there stuff anymore cause for the most of part its worthless. Its the same game anyone the format of archives I think changed or something big changed about something so older versions werent compatible anymore and the version number at the bottom of the screen.
