Why did Apogee publish this CRAP? I'm not the Big Important Dude who makes decisions like this, but it was a bad one. Even the shareware was dissapointing, three fighters, but only one level and one music. Boo!

I'm with you Flaose. It was in production for too long (IMHO). When they (Argo) started making it, then it wasn't that bad. By the time it was finished we had better fighting games.

If I remember correctly Scott Miller thought it was crap too.

Speaking of Argo, did anyone ever find out what happened to them? They made a couple cool games a long time ago, like Hexxagon. That game rocked.

a publisher can't predict the outcome of the game, it can supervise the development, suggest ideas, ask for implementing features, etc. even so, crap does get developed, and the publisher, having invested money in the product, go and publish it, hoping it would sell anyway.
I think this is why 3dR not having publisher/developer realtions but in-house/3rd party, which give them more control and quality assurance over the products.

After Xenophage, we don't know what happened to Argo.

They made a small game called Super Dueling Minivans a few years after Xenophage. I have more info on my website:

If Xenophage was released earlier but at the same level of completion that it has now, it would've blown all the other fighting games out of the water.
