I'm really looking foward to Prey, I have mine pre-ordered, but I'm still hyped for DNF. Which I have been hyped since day one of announcement of DNF.

I want to know who's with me still? I've been patiently waiting I know I wont be disappointed since I've been playing the Prey demo and it's ass kicking so I know Duke is just a bigger ass kicker. So lets get the morale train moving! :D

Good job 3DR! :D

I'm still psyched for DNF!

Playing Prey gave me the same feeling:
"If this game is THIS awesome, DNF is going to going to own!"

lol

I can't wait man!

I am as happy about DNF as I have ever been. I have never actually been happier then just now.

Actually I just installed Manhatten Project the other day and watched the trailer on the CD. It just made me want it more....:D

I did notice the interactivity was very much like the bar in Prey, the hand poking and such was EXACTLY the same.....

I still think that DN3D had some of the best level design of all time. Playing the Prey demo has led me to believe that DNF will absolutely deliver.

I'm glad that the guys, who made my favorite maps are still working at 3DR, and making levels for DNF... :)
I'm sure i won't be dissapointed, if they just keep up the same creativity (sp) and sense of interactive objects as back then... :)

I am totally excited about Duke Nukem Forever. My mind just keeps coming up with ideas that 3D Realms may put into DNF.The possibilities are truly endless (only because we don't know any die-hard facts about the game, other than what 3D Realms has released.)

I've played the Prey demo and it kicked major ass. I already have the Collector's Edition preordered and I'm waiting for it. If Prey was that good, how much better is DNF gonna be? I bet a WHOLE lot better.

 :wid:

then i'll bet you all do mass suicides when 3drealms says dnf is canclled. only to later (a week or two before its release) says it was joke and 3/4 of its fan base is dead.

#1. That is ****ING HILLARIOUS!!! :haha:

#2. No game is worth taking my own life. Yeah I'd be pissed, but life goes on.

#3. You guys see this attachment picture. I will OWN all of your with that shotgun (The devs have probably remodeled it by now) in DNF Multiplayer when DNF comes out...

I thought Prey demo was excellent, but DNF is going to have to be waayy more than that. People, myself included, have been following DNF for a very long time, despite some things I disagree with, and if it turns out to be nothing but a run and gun story driven bore fest like Doom3 or Half Life 2 im gonna be a tad dissapointed.

I have to admit though, the zero media is starting to grate on me a little in my online life, and I can see it with other people here too. Alot of regulars who were really enthusiastic when I first joined the boards, I've noticed them get more and more jaded and losing patience.

After all these years,
I am very dissapointed that its not even out yet, and havent seen it since 2001

But I really wanna see this game come out and raise the bar for everygame ever! Very polish and balance...i want a very 'real' feel to the game...

Of course I'll wait...No chioce, I remember freakin out back in theday...thinkin...

"Damn...I need to save up money and buy one of those GeForce 3's!!!! Then I can play DNF!"

yup after prey the only games i'm not looking forward to on PC are (in no particular order)

1) DNF
2) Half-life 2 episode 2
3) Sin episode 2

and that's about it...but i'm sure out of those 3 i will have the most fun playing DNF :)

Its wierd.

Prey was an amazing demo. Amazing. Definetly the coolest most impressive game since HL2. I played the demo through 3 times and loved it, and played hours of multiplayer and still love it. In other words Prey is quite suberb.

But at the same time, Im hoping DNF will be much much better than Prey. If DNF is "only as good as Prey", then I will be seriously dissapointed.

So basically, in my mind, Prey is hugely awesome, but still crap compared to Duke. Am I expecting too much from DNF? Am I setting myself up for a huge letdown? Can we see a screenshot? ;)

infowars
07-07-2006, 12:49 AM
I agree...DNF better be 100000 times better then prey to be impressive:D

Prey WASNT that great for me....

I felt like I was play through a new Doom 3 mod with a sweet storyline/ game introduction. The Game seems to be very linear and basic other then the whole portal/gravity aspect...

its gonna take more then 2 or 3 playable video poker machines to impress me!:o

COME ON DUKE!

Duke 3d wasn't linear, at the time it was anything but linear for FPS standards, you could find multiple secret paths, travel to areas in multiple different ways, fly a jetpack up into buildings...

Some facts and assumptions which keep me holding on:

Work on DNF as it stands today has been on track since January 2003 (after they had rewritten the licensed Unreal-engine they were using before).
3DR have been hiring and have probably now the biggest developer team so far they`ve ever had since 1997.
Scott Miller`s more recent interviews show quite clearly to me that he has a precise business goal regarding DNF: getting an inhouse-game finally out and proving soon that 3DR still is a very good developer besides being a very good producer of games.
It is really, really time to renew the valuable Duke Nukem IP. Duke 3D-variations have been published on almost any platform you can think of and the failure of Manhattan Project showed IMO that the waiting Duke-fans have become a little tired of surrogates.
Work on the current build of DNF has been going on for three and a half years now so it`s reasonable to think that 2007 is gonna be a remarkable year... ;)
