Im sorry this is like my second post today and i was wondering what levels were expecting to see in dnf. :brickwall:

I want a level like ravenholm (hl2 chapter, creepy and it rocked). I mean the shear atmosphere of that level really was creepy and i wanted more of that kind of atmosphere to be made into a great game. dnf should at least have one level like ravenholm. :D

What kind of levels do you guys want to be in the game?:flame:

Great concept...
With ideas like that you work as a future lead level designer...

Just kidding.. :hhg:

But yeah, that would actually be really cool...
Personally, i'd like it more like a big building, like a hotel, with several Strip club sections... That would seem more realistic, than one huge building as a stripclub... :o

I want a big, realistic stadium for boss fight. And some cheerladers :)

I want a Hotel. like in Hitman 4, (The Casino Hotel), but in DNF you would
have acces to ALL 11? Floors, and ALOT of interactivity in it.

And a big boss fight on the top of the roof :)

Ps: The Casino/Hotel would ofcourse have a stripclub :)
And some toilets :D

And ofcourse, a Ravenholm simular level would be great. :)

I know it's pretty much inevitable, but I kinda hope we don't get a hotel level, because there's not much else to do than running through identical corridors.
At the very least, if there has to be a level set in the hotel, start off on the ground floor, with restaurants, bars, the casino, a strip club, a regular club, whatever. Then when you go to go upstairs (to fight the boss on the roof, maybe - that's a good idea) aliens attack and destroy most of the building, so most of the stairs and elevators are blocked, and instead of running through endless corridors just trying to find working stairs, you have to get back to the ground floor and make your way into the staff areas (blue/yellow/red keycards required, of course :p) and up the service elevator. Or maybe Duke has a private elevator in the Lady Killer that goes straight to his penthouse, and he can access the roof from there. His penthouse would be a great place for having hidden guns, and various "don't have time to play with myself" jokes.

I don't think that's ever been considered, good suggestion! ;)

I'll be happy as long as I see some levels set upon Space stations, or a Moon base. Duke must go to Space at one point in the game. :)

yes, please let us take the Duke into orbit again, that twas awwsuumm.to pilot a space ship into the mother ship would be big time cool. mabey even cause masive enemy ship collisions in orbit. then everyone on the earth will know what Duke has done to the envading alien forces..

^ I wouldn't mind some scary moments, but Duke himself should never get scared.

There were a few sections where DN3D managed to be slightly creepy, and a bit tense (The Abyss comes to mind) and I'm sure DNF will have some small sections scattered throughout the game. Maybe in the old miners town, they will give you that same sort of atmosphere, but I don't think they'd do a whole level like Ravenholm. But hey, you never know. ;)

I want a big wc(toilet) level. There'll be just one giant public closet. Imagine this huge clean shining place. Really epic-like.

ok take the whole hotel but switch the idea, duke is air-lifted to the roof where he has to travel through the hotel (every hotel at least has 1 haunted room or floor level) but you travel through 11 floors each chocked full of enemies (some rooms are opened which you can get some ammo or enemies) when your done with that the lobby has a battle lord when you enter the casino part of the hotel (this is las vegas) there is a boss.

but when you traveled through the floors of the hotel you saw two rooms that needed a key to open it but you didnt find a key at all in that level. after you completed the game you are granted a key (when you restart) when you get back to that hotel lvl you go to the two rooms and one door opens up and the key crumbles in your hand. in thta room is a secret level which is awesome and during the level rampage you encounter a key. then you head for that other door and when you open that you find easter eggs and thank you's from the creators for being patient and stuff.

the wall also has a number on it which if you can figure out what it is (which is a phone number and you can talk to george and say how good the game).

god of war had that in the game (thats if you could find it).

I started playing Duke games with Duke3D. I always perceived Duke3D as creepy abandoned apocalyptic scenario, but at the same time zany. Much like Evil Dead.

So dank creepy enviorments are appropriate. Everyone loves spooky scenarios.

There should be a strip club in every level. White Zombies *Blood, Milk & Sky would be a great backround song for some bloodied up and dark place

*Monster jump in the stadium and splash the cheerleards that were acclaiming Duke*

Duke: You're gonna pay for that.

We need good, scary and variated levels. Say:

First Level: Duke is on his house on Las Vegas. He needs to find the key to his motocycle and dispatch the thugs that the crime lords sent to kill him (I mean, c'mon, I think that Duke already pissed off some crime lords), find his keys to the doors, and then go to a stripper club. Just when he find the keys, aliens begin to invade Las Vegas or something.

i still like the idea of duke wakeing up in a room full of chicky babe strippers. then all hell brakes loose and duke is forced back into the mighty boot role. but this time he saves a whole strip club that later he returns to as the new owner.

Agreed. Some of the stuff in Duke flatout scared the shit outa. IDK what it was, but some things in the game were just 'queer scary,' like the toxic waste and canyon levels. I also remember the space level where there was a moving circle platform that spanned a huge area and had pretty much all of the game badguys on it.

Around 1:37 of the dnf 2001 trailer I think you can see the Mona Lisa painting. I wonder if this means portions of the game take place in France, since the Mona Lisa painting is in the Lourve in Paris.

You can view the trailer here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPX_y7wP_ko&search=duke%20nukem%20forever

Thoughts?

George said that that trailer no longer represented the game.
ofcourse the idea could still be intact.
I would like to see huge outdoor places, the Strip comes to mind

Duplicates of the Mona Lisa would be right up the alley of most Vegas casinos. No Louvre for you! :tinyted:

Yes, looks closely at the portrait, and you'll notice Mona is wearing sunglasses :)
So not exactly a real duplicate...:D
