I was thinking about this while playing the demo of prey.
In prey you are on an alien ship kicking alien butt. now what if Duke's busy down on eart kicking alien butt, now what if it has some connection? maybe prey has some connection to dnf. maybe meanwhile the indian is on the alien ship duke s in las vega's killing al the other aliens whiping them off the earth.
could be cool

I think its 2 different games, but good idea. Duke will go into orbit in DNF, i hope. I hope he crashes the alien flagship and lights up the sky so everyone on earth can see how badass he is. but yeah imo its 2 dif games.

well we really dont have pictures of the aliens yet so we cant make a connection in the first place. i havent played the prey demo but hearing from most of you it sounds badass and i will buy the game.

dnf should have demons and the undead (stronger, faster, more inteligent, more fierce, way more health than any doom 3 enemy) duke has its fair share of aliens, now its time for more devastating enemy that can twist dukes personality and utterly change him to become evil. but duke is the alien ass-kicker while phobos is the demon ass kicker. (phobos was the original name for the marine, they changed it before original release).

but duke should fight that army at the end of half-life, that would be a kick ass mission for duke.

I think his name is simply "DOOM"...Of course, not taking into account the novels. Phobos and Crash are other Marines, they are playable in Quake III: Arena. If I recall correctly, Phobos is a pallete swap of DoomGuy in that game, just like iD planned for the original Doom (Spacesuit guys with different colors, each one indicating the kind of weapon they would carry), and that got scrapped.

I doubt Duke Nukem 4 will have ANY relation to prey, other then some type of easter egg hidden in the game.

...maybe, see Tommy the indian's 'dead' body on the alien ship, maybe?

I had the very same thought, about DNF and Prey showing the same story from two different points of view. I made the connection when I saw the crawler, and it reminded me of that red bug-thing in the 2001 DNF video. Gasbags seem to have something in common with octabrains, while hunters appear to be related to the enforcers from Duke3D.

Well... Maybe we find the same relation with Duke Nukem and Shadow Warrior... In Bath house (Shadow Warrior), a car crashes and Lo Wang says "Ow, this looks like Duke Nukem!". And on the "Wanton Destruction" expansion, Lo Wang even enters on a Duke Burgers in Chinatown!

It would be cool if 3D Realms put Lo Wang into DNF. I mean, C'Mon, THE Shadow Warrior already messed things up on Duke's turf on Wanton Destruction, so, why not?

Oh, and myabe in a faaar distant future, a game that feature the triad (The peace-pipe indian, the sushi eater bad-acent ninja and the blonde machism womanizer that have the strange habit of saying to people EAT SHIT AND DIE)

Duke could enter some jail (a passcode is required to enter) and inside all the cells are "fallen" heros.. Shadow warrior, doom marine, max payne. etc. etc. anyone they want to make fun of. you could possibly shoot them too, if you wanted. and duke would insult them

Lara Croft appeared chained to the wall in a prison cell in Shadow Warrior with the phrase "She's raided her last tomb"

So hopefully we shall see mockeries of other heroes in DNF

If they do, and it is anything like the first one, I will NOT buy it.

On the other hand, if they tried to make a REALISTIC ninja game, where you actually need to sneak on your enemies and kill them with the same techniques used by ninjas in feudal Japan, and the main character represents actual ninja traditions (as opposed to being a loud-mouthed caricature of Asian people)... I would buy that.

Why wont you buy SW2 ?
I thought shadow warrior was a great game - it was very very duke3d like, and i liked it at least as much as i liked D3D. The only thing about it was that it wasnt nearly as popular as D3D so you could never get a multiplayer match going.

It was TOO MUCH like Duke3D. Except that Duke3D lived in its own glory, while copies of Shadow Warrior were purchased just because it was a game from the makers of Duke3D.

who cares shadow warrior was a good game. duke is dead to the majority of the public today. but since prey came out some peopel are say "hey, didnt 3drealms make that one game? you know that one game that was fun? i think it was called duck nukem? no duke nukem ah that was a good game"

Shadow warrior was never that well know as Duke Nukem 3D I believe. I never played it for example. :(

HOLY SHIT! Dude, buy it NOW and play it! it IS a classic! just as fun/funner then duke3d...espicially the multiplayer! first mutiplayer FPS game with vechicles

I could do that yes, unfortunately I have only a windows XP machine, and when I tried the demo I couldn't even pass level 1. :o

The level design in SW is exceptional and even more detailed than the levels of DN3D. A lot of variety in the environments IIRC. I'll have to grab it someday (lost my old copy :tinyted:).

Wow you must live in a different world then I. In my world, people know Duke Nukems name. Several people have the game. and im talking 20 or 30 random folks.

True :D Though here where I live most people recognize him from his console titles (PS1, N64, etc.), not for Duke Nukem 3D. DN3D came out in a time PC gaming wasn't all that mainstream ;) Even today it's still kind of elitist, but way more popular due to Counter-Strike, BattleField 2, etc.

Well, yes I have, but I didn't know it was for SW as well. :)

Also, what I meant with not being able to pass level 1 I was refering to my skill level being to low (for some reason. :o )
