Helherron. I made a thread a while back about it, to an unfortunatley lukewarm response.

If you understand german there is a real good one - Vampires Dawn.
Actually its 2 games now - made with rpg maker - i liked them a lot.

Here you can search for englisch RPG Maker Games at RPG Atelier:

http://www.rpg-atelier.net/search.php

simply highlight the box before "Sprache berücksichtigen?" ans set it to englisch and higlight the box before "Status berücksichtigen?" and set it to "Vollversion" to only get englisch Full Versions and no Demos.

Edit: And this one is in German and Englisch http://www.rpg-atelier.net/showgame.php?ShowGameID=255&ShowSort=search&SortValue=&SortLevel=

As far as I know fallout is NOT a legally free game.

Abandonware, no matter how much I support it, is not legal. I don't agree with those laws, but hey thats how it is. Even if a game is not sold the game isn't 'free'.

If a game hasn't been sold in retail for over 6 years, I consider it fair game. Thus, I have no problem with people downloading Chrono Trigger or Lost Vikings.

First of all, these are both sold retail for rediculous prices. And second, whether you agree with the law or not, Fallout is not a free game. It doesn't matter what you "consider fair game".

Get any fooband and you'll have all the roguelike action you want. Angband, Zangband, Hengband, Furyband, Steamband, you name it. Also check out ADOM, Nethack, and TOME (also a band, despite its name).

I hate arguing this because I happen to be on your side, but Chrono Trigger IS still sold. There is a PSX rerelease and Lost Vikings is on the GBA. Believe it or not but rereleases (regardless of platform) pretty much cancel out any 'grey area' because the game is still sold.

Zangband! :) If you like to die a lot. But thats some of the charm.

I really enjoy it, but have never gotten anywhere. I kill one or two monsters but sooner or later I get some random desiese or meat the f* devil himself, and die. And start over. And die. I kept one character for one whole hour once. :o

I like to kill the "civilians" as well, but usually end up getting slaughtered anyway.

Wait, you're right. I forgot about that. Sorry.
