the old tribes problem

OK, I'm in a large open, rock walled, spherical room with four big platforms. At the top of the room is a large fan spewing out green gas/smoke. Two of the platforms have energy beams reaching from the floor, to the platforms, and up to the fan. One of the platforms has no power, and the other you cannot use the screens on it because they are scrambled. Anyone know how to get out of here?
