I mean after the school bus level she was never to be seen again. I don't remember totally killing her or anything.

I just wanted to know if any one else noticed.

"The" little girl? I was under the impression there were many of them considering multiple little girls attack you at the same time in that one room. They were just possesed kids who obviously all died when their school and bus were abducted.

I'm just glad I didn't have to face them again after the schoolbus. That was the only time in the game that got under my skin.

the first room with the kids, with that freaky background music and where all the kids wrote their names on the wall with blood.... that freaked me out way more than the bus ... my hair is still standing :O

The one where you first fought a bunch of them? I don't remember them writing their names.

I recall some text being on the floor the first time you see a kid get possessed (the one with two of 'em), but I couldn't make out the name.)

BTW, can they be killed through normal means, or only with the bow? It seems sometimes they don't die with conventional weapons, but other times I can shoot a shot and kill 'em.

I killed them only with conventional weapons.

Also yeah that first room with them singing the song was freaky.. best. scene. ever.

Yes there were at least 3 or 4 different names written in blood on the walls. along with other drawings and stuff.

Yea I meant girls. Just it seems like after that I saw no more of them I thought maybe they'd be around for a bit longer or something to it.

Tommy even says something like: "This is creeping me out."

Exactly what I was thinking :D

I guess they ran out of little girls to possess after they possessed a school bus full of them. And of course we all know that wraiths can only possess little girls. :p

What happened to the possessed boy enemy? He's in the game, and acts just like the girl, but is never used.

Falcon

I guess the school bus was of a nuns school...lol. There you have an unused enemy. While we may ask ourselves where did then the killed boy came from. Or perhaps the wraiths like to posses only little girls with ponytails.

Heh. You can spawn him by typing "spawn monster_possessed_boy"

Ooooooh, I absolutely HATED the possessed girls. The first time, when they sing that creepy little song and tommy goes "This is starting to creep me out" especially (moreso than the schoolbus).

That was an awesome scene though.

Also, when the children on the bus DO get possessed, it was cool how the windows all went blue. However, I still hated those creepy little bastards.

BTW, the first name in blood (where the first possessed girl is seen) is "francine" written in a horribly weird way. Theres also a drawing of a stick figure crying that is surrounded by a bunch of creatures with sharp teeth (they look like wraiths somewhat)

They might have taken out the possessed boy either due to time constraints, or they couldn't think of something that they player could see to cause him to come to be. Hah, that rhymed.

By the way, that little creepy room where you fight the possessed girl for the first time... Screw that room! Ring around the rosie... Damnit it's in my head again!

"Ring around the rosey..."

Loved it, I'm going to record that scene with Fraps and add to my screen saver. :D

Seems its difficult to make ghosts satisfying to shoot, they looked awsome, and all the concepts around them were great, but it felt sapped of energy. Same thing happened in Fear with the ghosts, look great, but piss boring in combat.

OnyxBMW

Well, the biggest problems with those is they are a bitch to kill, but don't appear often enough throughout the entire game...theres no story of why they're here or what they're trying to accomplish...

no story of why they're here or what they're trying to accomplish...

It's fairly easy to explain, in four words: "Sometimes, Things Come Back".

You were dead, but the same thing that brought you back to life brought some Wraiths back.

OnyxBMW
07-13-2006, 09:31 PM
But, why do they only really appear in "all fall down", and then make 1 or 2 more appearances throughout the rest of the game?

Because they are just side enemies. I would've love to see aliens getting possessed though. That would be wicked...

And the possessed boy works fine, He shoots fireballs, dies, and saying Your it! like normal. I don't know why they cut him. I'm gonna mod him into the kid scenes :D

Majorly creeped me out, especially since I was in that room with and the little girls were attacking, and my 3 year old daughter had woken up and tapped me on the shoulder (was playing with headphones on, so I didn't hear her). I'm way too creeped out to play anymore today, probably won't play tomorrow either.

Ooooh! Ouch. You probably whipped your mouse around, too, and blasted her with the assault rifle :D

Just try playing again later today (friday) and just work your way through it!

i think i missed something out? i can remember the little girl behind the window smashing the boy into the spike and then the school bus not a scene when a bunch of them writes down something. can someone tell me the level?

Komb.at
07-14-2006, 12:58 PM
No they weren't actually writing down their names. It's the room where you hear the song in the background, and you get attacked by them for the first time. If you light your lighter and watch the walls you can find serveral names. Francine is one of them btw.

Damien_Azreal
07-14-2006, 03:51 PM
There's no real story to the little girls.

They were abuducted by the aliens, same as you. But after your first deatha dn trip to the Land of the Ancients the dishonored dead followed you back to the land of the living.
They then possessed the little girls and began to fight you. That's it. The dishonored dead acted the same even when not in a host body, they would attack you and steal your spirit power.

Hmmm, maybe "Jane" is the Ghostly girl. And Francine was the living girl tapping on the window glass. But Francine's name was written in two places in the Sphere. Either she was moved from the Nursery to the windowed room with the boy, or she takes a bus to an all girl school, for girls named Francine!

what is it with children that makes them so scary? ;)

Damien_Azreal
07-16-2006, 09:32 AM
Children are innocent, people like to think that no harm can happen to them.

So when placed in a unknown situation like this, where they are harmed, killed and mutilated it's unsettling enough. But add to the fact that they are returnign, already dead, and trying to kill you.

07-16-2006, 09:40 AM
Damien_Azreal, I was joking. I don't find children scary and the little ghost girls was not scarry, just hard to kill. PPL who find little girls scary have watched "The Ring" too many times
