Yep, the console is pretty much activated the same way in all Doom 3 engine games (at least as far as I've seen).

It's ALT+CTRL+~ (or ^ on German keyboards), without SHIFT

If you wanna open it with ~ (or ^ respectively) alone, you have to enter "seta com_allowconsole 1" at the console prompt.

btw: does anyone know the console command for hiding the weapon? I wanna bind it to a key, so I don't have to go the options menu every time I wanna make a screenshot without it.

g_showhud 0

can be used to hide the HUD, but I didn't find the command for the weapon.
