while i did enjoy the game there were parts in it that just seemd too 'samey' and it felt like a breath of fresh air when something 'normal' turned up like the airplane or the bar...

something that could've made the game a little more different to the eye was having a longer start sequence...

it probably could've been cooler if you had to fight off aliens on planet earth before being sucked up into that spaceship...i mean i don't know, maybe it can be considered for prey 2, but it did seem a little annoying that all the area's were too simular looking and it felt boring at times...

anyway, that was just a thought...what do you guys think? :)

It could be nice. I did like the way they did it though. I worked very well IMO.

I reckon it would've been cooler if there were more chunks of buildings embedded in the sphere, ie parts of people's houses, chunks of supermarkets, etc. It seems really strange the only building that appears to have been sucked up was the bar.

I think they were hoping for some cowbell. That's the only reason they came to earth.

Really, if you were fighting aliens on earth you'd have to get a gun before being sucked up, and I think it would change the atmosphere of the abduction completely.

It'd also mean a few more weapons in the very limited arsenal that you have aswell :) I actually agree, why is it that the bar was the only area beamed up? Were the aliens specifically searching for tommy before hand or something?

Maybe they weren't planning on abducting anybody? They may've been good mates of those bar flies that Tommy beats up at the start of the game. They've come for revenge...How dare Tommy beat them up! And with a wrench! :O

I thought it would have been interesting if the introduction of the game gave more development to Jen and Tommy's relationship. A date or something. You could see the reservation, really get an appreciation for what it is he loathes and she loves.

Haha. Gamers are stereotyped enough as 'womanless nerds scared of real life social encounters' The day a game is released with a first person virtual date as its opening will be a very sad day for us all. Expect no mercy from the vast majority of the female population after that happens.

To Twin: I have to say I think Prey's approach to its environment was the breath of fresh air, not the earth environments we encounter in gaming. I mean, how many more FPS's do you want where you fight aliens, monsters or bad guys on Earth? You've even got DNF coming at some point which will be exactly that. The vast majority of FPS's are set on Earth in some context or another. I have to live on this shitheap for 24 hours a day. The pure escapism that Prey offered was bliss to me. Though I really like vcatkillers idea of more earth chunks embedded into the sphere. That would be cool indeed!

i do agree with that the alien spaceship was a breath of fresh air but i still would've liked it if the abduction was a little longer....

i mean even if it was Tommy running away from the beams or something...i think it could've had a cooler beginning...

also yeah, it would've been nice to see some other buildings sucked up like super markets and stuff

Not to be sarcastic, but how many supermarkets do you find in the middle of an Indian reservation? My son is married to a native American and lives on a reservation in Nevada. There isn't a whole lot of anything out there. They have to drive 30-40 miles into town to do their shopping. Just a thought.

Thanks, Old Fox

Yeah but the whole abduction thing must be pretty widespread, ie a lot wider than 30-40 miles.

Just look at how many people seem to be being shifted through the ship. You don't fnd it plausible they could've sucked up small towns nearby? And even then, I'd have to imagine there'd at least be homes or something.

As it stands, it seems like they just zoomed in and just picked on the one building. And several other thousand odd people who were just wandering around in circles in the middle of nowhere. At midnight. O_o

In one of the Art Bell radio clips, he mentions getting calls from people in Oklahoma, Texas, and IIRC one other state that I can't remember. Oh the joy of IIRC.
