If it is when starting the Installshield you could try this.
Try renaming the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield
to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield.old
Once you have done this try reinstalling the game. If this works after the install delete the new Installshield folder and rename old one back.

Boot into Windows Safe mode .
Create a new folder on the hard drive
Now double click My Computer and right click on the Drive with the game in.
From the menu choose open , you should now see the contents of the disk.
Now from the menu bar choose EDIT>Select All and then EDIT>Copy
Now open the folder you created and EDIT>Paste . Copy all the other CD's into this folder if you have the CD version.
Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\*Your User Name*\Local Settings\Temp and delete all the files in this folder.
You may need to turn on the ability to view hidden files and folders to do this. To do so, double click My Computer, then click Tools and Options. Then click View and select the option to view all hidden files.
Now try the Install for the game again by running the setup file in the new folder.

Restart the computer.
Some computers have a progress bar that refers to the word BIOS. Others may not let you know what is happening.
As soon as the BIOS loads, begin tapping the F8 key on your keyboard. Do so until the Windows Advanced Options menu appears.
If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. If this happens, restart the computer and try again.
Using the arrow keys on the keyboard, select Safe mode and then press Enter.
