Note: This isnt the issue that we had in the begining with ALL messages unread
So I just recieved a PM (From Joe :o) and read it, hell even replied to it. Then I leave the PM area and go back to p0stwh0ring, the icon is gone. All is well, right? Wrong. Eventually it comes back. Thinking I just got another one, I check my PMs. Same message, although unread this time. No biggie, read it. I did. Again and again, the icon is still blinking! This is the 2nd time this has happened! :( Why?

Maybe it's there for emphasis. You should read the message every time it starts blinking as to make sure you don't repeat the silliness that caused Joe to send you the PM. ;)

Thats plausable... if Joe actually PMd me about that. And the frist time it wasnt when Joe/Another mod PMed me.

Hehe, I was only kidding. I didn't meant to pollute your thread, I was merely sprinkling a bit of humor here and there.
It just occurred to me now that it might do you well to clear your cache and cookies just to ensure it's not a user-end error. I'd reckon something went wrong with an SQL query otherwise.

Sorry, forgot a smilie ;) It went away after I got another PM and read that. Perhaps it reads a few hours into the future o_O
It's most likely just a glitch with the database or something. It could have been on your part (cache issues) or on the server part.
See if it happens again and if it does try clear your cache.

Sounds like a cache issue.

Hmm, this just happened to me, but it happened to about half of my messages - says I have 96 unread out of 173, and oddly they aren't in any order by date, they just seem to be random (the ones that are marked unread). Only thing I did was delete some older ones, and yes I have reloaded after clearing out my cache. :o

Something went haywire with mine and now it says there are 77 unread even though I read them. I've been too lazy to go uncheck them all so I've been living with the blinking envelope.

Suggestion.
Don't use PM's for mass storage. Read something, delete it.

Hrm, I kept most of my messages for the sake of nostalgia. Alot of 'em from people who haven't posted and whom I haven't talked to in a long time...

The PM area has an export feature, you know. :)

[Dana Carvey doing Johnny Carson] I did not know that, that is weird, wild stuff [/Dana Carvey doing Johnny Carson]
Thanks for pointing that out, I can clean up my inbox now I guess.
Have you guys tried marking all your email as read? Just check all the boxes and use the drop down menu at the bottom to "Mark as Read".
If you hadn't visited for a while then your last visit date or mail read counters could have been corrupted somehow during an update and as such it'll show all mail since that certain date as unread.
