You heard me right. (http://www.slashfilm.com/article.php/20060824spiderman4-confirmed)

"There will be many more Spider-Man films to come," Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige reveals. "We already have stacks of ideas for the next one because of the wealth of stories in the comics. We could be making Spider-Man movies for the next 20 years, based on the 50 years of Spider-Man history we have."

Oh god.

A trilogy I was hoping for, and I'm excited about the third film. But they keep milking the title and series it's going to go to shit.

Didn't Tobey only sign on for three films?

They'll find someone else, he's wearing a mask half of the time anyways. :)

That's nothing new. That's been known for awhile now.

I heard there would be a triology, I didn't hear about them milking the title as Damien said. Anyways, I thought some people might be interrested.

I don't like this "we have a stack of ideas for the next one" because that refers to venom being ended in Spider-man 3. :( I don't want to see my fav villain tossed to the side in less than 20 minutes.

I was depressed when Rami said he'd do as many as the wanted. I hope he was just lying for PR... Rami should not be trapped in a single ****ing series!!!

Sony already said they are planning 6 movies.

With all that's being added in this film I can't see there being a resolution this film. SO that's why not :P

I'm afraid of this turning into Batman. I know it would still be Raimi, but even he can't stretch on franchise longer than it should. Heres hoping he proves me wrong.

why not end it in a trilogy?Money!

1 and 2 were very good, as in much better than I expected. If they keep it going like that it might work.

But I guess eventually people will get bored. And if they keep going there won't be a 'real' end ever, or only when nobody cares about it anymore.

While its not a good thing per se, Raimi always does a good job imo. So I'd look forward to anything with his name on it.

He'll probably change his mind once he's really rich and a little older.

I'm sure he'd be pretty rich already. How long until he's really rich? I can't wait!!!

Well, since it IS based on a comic book, I would expect the series of movies to go on indefinitely. Sure, there will be lulls, new directors, reimaginings, prequels and god knows what else. But from now, until I'm long dead, there will be some sort of Spider-Man movie in some form of development (even if it's just talking).

Some people just seem to damn a movie if it has a number after its title, especially if it isn't the first with an appended number. I understand that after a while the crew running the show might dry up on their ideas, but sometimes the way people talk about things just convinces me that it's more about the fact that they'll be making money than it's about the actual merit and craftmanship put into the film arc.
