Someone on a gaming community on LiveJournal found this gem.

I'm fairly certain it's Chinese, doesn't look Korean or Japanese...

I guess it's done? =)

Someone posted a photo of that very box a long time ago (2003, more or less) and said it just contained the 2001 trailer.

I actually have that *exact* box from China. A developer friend mailed it to me a few months ago. Inside was a copy of Duke Manhattan and there were Manhattan shots on the back :) I have two copies at the office.

So do the Chinese think that Duke Nukem: MP is the original scrapped 3D sidescroller Duke Nukem Forever?

I am curious though, what is your opinion (or the companies) about something like this?

Be careful George, you dont know these commmercial developing companies these days. If they know you have a supposedly "un-official version" of their game, they may charge you all the money in planet Earth to pay for that ;) .

Oooooh, this reminds me of something.
What about the copyright issues in china, malaysa and taiwan?
I've been in the last 2 countrys once and found a HUUUGE market full of illegal copys of every game you could think of. no matter if classic games or new ones.
I don't wana know how many "versions" of the real DNF they will make when it's done...
I really don't like the thought of this, but what can 3dr or any other developer do about it?

Probably nothing. It's up to the country, I guess. Oh, and if there is no official distributor in China then this isn't the case when somebody could have legal issues in country itself. Well, depends on a country of course.
