It's Bachelor of Science (Professional Software Development). I can take Games Development as a major.
If I don't do well enough to get into that, I can do TAFE (http://courses.swinburne.edu.au/Courses/ViewCourse.aspx?mi=100&id=3136) and get credit for the uni course.

It's a real course at a campus, and the fact that it's in Australia doesn't phase me as I'm also in Australia. >_>

Have a look down the list for Australian schools. I haven't researched their courses, but I suppose you may find something. Generally there are game-design courses in most major universities, besides South Australia which really sucks for me, but such is life.
You should just go through your course guide book for next year and have a look at each of the IT and Multimedia courses and check out what programs they offer. Unfortunately there probably isn't a course specifically designed for game programming, so you may have to to a similar course and see if they offer the ability to choose something similar as a major. I wouldn't recommend TAFE (even though it can be quite cool), only because a university sounds a whole lot better on your resume.

I would say no. And I've not even bothered to look at the details.

If I get into TAFE, I'll do uni afterwards.

Whats your TER score? TAFE has some exceptional programming courses; matter of fact I believe there is new game's design course available. Depends on the state I suppose.

You might also want to have a look at QUT's offering at http://www.newit.qut.edu.au/interactive/, if you don't mind moving to Brisbane. There's also quite a few game companies up here - I got a job in one whilst still at Uni.
