Aspyr Media thought so, too, and the North American publisher of Dreamfall will be re-releasing The Longest Journey on DVD-ROM in early September. Even better, to help celebrate the occasion, Aspyr and Adventure Gamers are pleased to offer a free game giveaway! Three lucky winners will receive a shiny retail copy of the new release. All you need to do is answer the three insanely difficult questions below, which require such obscure knowledge as the Gregorian calendar, classic literature, and metaphysics. Sounds daunting, we know. But you're intrepid adventurers, so we have confidence you'll figure them out. If you need help, you can always read through our reviews of The Longest Journey and Dreamfall for hints.
So answer the questions and enter if you live in the U.S. or Canada and don't yet have a copy of this game.

Finally. It's about time TLJ got an ENGLISH DVD-ROM version.

Hell I'm contemplating whether or not I want to get it. I bought mine at staples without a box (just a cardboard cd-case). Anything to give them the impression TLJ3 is a good idea :)

Agreed. Hopefully Dreamfall 2 or TLJ3 will get rid of the horrible console interface.

The interface wasn't Dreamfall's biggest failure, it was the complete lack of puzzles or interactivity. Basically it was an playable story (albeit a damn good one).
I really they think they dropped the ball on this one, it could have been one of the greatest games of all time had they just added in some hard puzzles and used a regular point & click method so that I could examine and touch everything. Without interactivity the game world just seemed empty.....empty and kind of boring. I did like that they tried their best with the control method provided, but why does everyone assume direct control is *needed* today when in reality it just hurts the game?

Cause Ragnar and co. wanted the game to appeal to demographics. To the casual crowd.

God I hate this series. Not because it's overly bad but because it is completely average and gets praise simply because it is the least rotten egg in the basket.

Actually I found the first one to be decent. The second was great story wise, but as a game it ultimately failed to do what what the hype claimed. Everyone was saying "The return of adventure games" meanwhile it really wasn't even an adventure game in the traditional sense of the word.

I really disliked the first. Really basic puzzles except for the occasional inane pixel hunt and script so genericly fantasy it drove me mad. The kind of dialogue that confuses lots of text and convoluted speech patterns with cleverness.

Um...does anyone know if the re-release is out cause I don't see it in Aspyr's website.

AdventureGamers asked Aspyr and apparently it IS out in stores. So....once again Aspyr fails miserably when it comes to shipping because I've not seen heads or tails of it. Even Staples, the place that seems to get every adventure game around here, doesn't have it.

Found the game here:
Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Aspyr-Media-The-Longest-Journey/dp/B000IXC8W2/sr=1-1/qid=1162828714/ref=sr_1_1/002-3103928-5320043?ie=UTF8&s=videogames)
Aspyr informed me that it's just a re-release and it is not advertised on their webpage, whatever the hell that means.
