View Full Version : Hmm, I never could figure out why Microsoft never released Flight Sim for X360?

It seems like with all the flight sims on the Xbox and X360 consoles combined, none of them really perform as well as some of the flight sims on other consoles, or on the PC. So, that brings up this question, since Microsoft did so well with Flight Simulator on the PC all these years, why don't they release a console version of the game on the X360? After all, the controller seems to be set up right to be a cockpit-style controller, and the high-def and 5.1 Dolby will make you feel like you're really in the cockpit, so why hold back to just the PC, M$? Show these clown flight sim wannabes what the original flight game should be like!

Because flight simulators are flight *simulators* and as such are operated best with a decent control setup, something consoles have never offered.

In FS2004, I've lately been familiarizing myself with John Murchison's excellent BAE 146-300 (http://images.google.fi/images?svnum=10&hl=fi&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=murchison+bae&spell=1).

The Start-up prodecure checklist alone includes 67 steps. For quick reference, I printed out roughly 50 pages from the 144 page manual of the aforementioned aircraft. On a good day I can get the thing off the ground in roughly 20 minutes ATM :)

Please explain how you would do that with a joypad. Even if you could pull it off on consoles somehow, you really think MS would strike gold with a full-blown flight simulator on the Xbox360? No. Way.

Yeah, I've tried demos of these games and they do *NOT* work with gamepads, not unless you want to be severly limited.
