I got this in my e-mail:
A short time after we make the site public, we plan on announcing the first juicy details of the next NS game, which will use the Half-life II engine and will be released for sale on Steam.
:woot:
I know that Flayra had been to Valve's HQ several times, so hopefully all the cool little features we've seen and have yet to see will make it to NS:S.

First Team Fortress 2, now this.
I just might get Half-Life 2 for this.

You don't need HL2 to play anything sold seperately based on Source.

HL2 is the best FPS period. :)
Plus, as avatar pointed out, you don't need HL2 for any Steam purchase.

No not really. There is no 'hard copy' when it comes to steam. You need to install steam and be online every time you want to reinstall the games, essentially making the discs useless. However it is tied to your account, so you can redownload infinite times.
(assuming the server doesn't go down)

Awesome. I hope it's relatively cheap.

I hope they add something new to the mix. Judging by the "NS 1.5" remark from one of the devs, I might be pleased.

The games on Steam are cheap, cheaper then what you can get in store.
You only need a credit card, I reccomend having a credit card specificly for internet purchuse that can't go below zero. Thus: you put on as much money as the game cost, buy it, and you have a game tied to your account.
That's what me and my pa will do: make a card specificly for internet purcheses. I plan to get Dark Messiah and Episode 2 with all the fun stuff this way.

I'm certainly looking forward to it. NS was one of the only games I took seriously from a competitive point of view.
