I picked this up yesterday, played through about half of "Episode IV" last night.

There's a sense of humour in the game, there's bits where you see Luke's speeder going into Mos Eisles, and the speeder runs over a couple of Jawas as it stops. The scene where Luke gets a lightsaber from Obi Wan has some other funny stuff, too.

It's pretty much the first game again, it's not got much new in gameplay, but that's cool, the first one was good, too.

The first one had frustrating keyboard controls on PC. I think I'll try this one's demo with a gamepad and decide afterwards.

I plan on getting Lego Star Wars II. I got Lego Star Wars and laughed so much my sides hurt. It's one of the 3 games I have that I use a controller (logitech dual action (instead of a joystick or keyboard/mouse combo)). In fact, I bought a second controller (same) so a friend that visited from the UK and I could play the game at the same time (cause yes the keyboard sucks for this game).

I liked the first one's demo, but i never bought it.

I may get this one if it gets kinda cheap.

I've always loved the sence of humour in the lego games.

I saw the cutscene of when Darth Vader cuts off Luke's hand and it was just the best.

All movies should be made into Lego.

My friend and I bought the DS version yesterday and are playing through it co op. A little glitchy but co op is so rare you hardly notice due to hilarity. I just like ripping off peoples arms as chewie :)

If you told me about making a Star Wars game, but with Legos, I would've told you that you were desperately milking the license.

Although that may be true (;)), this game looks like a hoot and I wanna try it.

Both of them are quite good. I honestly thought what you thought originally, ZZ. But I tried it, and darnit if it doesn't WORK. It's also fun.

Now it's not the hardest game you'll ever play, but it certainly is fun.

It's probably one of the few kid's game that adults can enjoy IMHO.

Speaking of LEGO, I heard that there's gonna be Lego Batman.

My co-worker brought in Lego Star Wars II for the PSP last night at work and I was able to give it a spin.

Very well done! The graphics are impressive and the sound effects/musical score are amazing(especially coming from the PSP's questionable tiny "speakers".)

Tons of action and some light hearted humor. I played for about 15 minutes and decided I didn't want to play anymore because I'm gonna buy it for my PSP. :)

We'll be able to play co-op via the PSP's wi-fi connection so that's an additional cool feature not found in the main console versions.

If anyone has a PSP, I highly recommend picking this game up!

It should definitely be the Adam West Batman for maximum ROFLMAO.

On the other hand if they could get a hold of Jack to do the Joker...

Did you see that Batman lego video I posted way back when? It had Adam West AND Hamill. :D

I played it at a friends place but we couldn't get the mouse-controls to work.. That kinda sucked :(

I had the demo for this but could only play so long before the game screws up and the camera decided it wanted to look out into the distance rather than what I was doing. I'll probably pick this up on the X-Box (Non-360) just because I can play with someone else without one of us being doomed to the keyboard.

(By the way, can you hook up more than one controller to the PC?)

I have Lego Star Wars and loved it, it didn't have much replay value though.

I'm thinking about trying it out.

It seems to be based more on the comics, the actual toys I mean.

*sigh* I used to love Lego so much when I was a kid. Good times.

I'd like to pick up the game if and when I ever get a 360. Didn't care for the first because it was new Star Wars, but this one looks really cool.

ok on the co-op for pc, is it like the old one?

Where you have to physically share the same keyboard and can't even play it online?

Yes you can (see my above post, I use 2 logitech dual action controllers)

It's a shame they didn't use a third-person camera like Max Payne... or does it?
This game looks really interesting otherwise.

It's kinda 3rd person (maybe call it 4th person?) almost like a side scroller does, but with changing angles. You usually see the back of your character, unless he's running toards you, or going side to side, oh I don't know what I'm saying or how to describe it, it's a 3rd person-side scroller-movie perspective. Yup, that's it.

I don't think it's called 4th person. It's called 2nd person, cause the camera seems to be away from you and occasionally stick to certain locations. Much like the original Alone in the Dark but with a moving dolly.

Downloaded and tried the demo for this on the 360 last night, and it was really fun. It seems that it's pretty much impossible to die (at least in the demo), even though there seems to be a life system represented by hearts. The worst that seems to happen is that you fall apart into little Lego pieces and then it takes a few seconds for you to reappear. Is this how it works in the full game? I think I like it that way, as it takes the pressure off and just lets you explore.

Anyway, the demo takes you from the point at which Luke, Ben and the droids reach Mos Eisley, to the point that they fly out of there in a hail of laser fire on the Millenium Falcon. I liked getting to build an AT-ST Walker (featured in episode 6) and blast the crap out of everything and crush them under your feet. :)

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by how fun it was, and woke up this morning craving more, so I guess I'm gonna have to go shell out the cash. :)

You can't die in the full game. If your health reaches zero, you'll reappear just like in the demo. However, you will lose some of the Lego studs you collected and have to pick them up again before they vanish. If you collect enough of those studs throughout a level you get the True Jedi status afterwards which gives you an additional golden brick. Golden bricks in turn can be used to unlock some of the secrets in the game.

In some areas in the IV levels, you will see some stormtroopers in a hot tub wearing bathing suits

Nope, he's been saying that for the four years I've been here.
