"With excellent shader technology, heavy animation and motion capture work, and 60 FPS motion creating a rich visual appeal, Neversoft will woo you with captivating visuals. On the gameplay front, the precision-tuned analog sticks, open world gameplay, and new moves like Nail a Trick create a new feel for a game that's been desperately in need of freshening up for some time. To be frank, Project 8 should invigorate every single Tony Hawk fan on the planet to play it, beckoning them to crawl out of their hovels like the Bat Signal calls Batman. Corny, I admit, but it's going to be real tough to ignore Tony Hawk's Project 8 this time around."

"We won't have to wait that long for Tony Hawk's Project 8 to hit the streets. For those that have found their videogame skating passion waning recently (the last few games were not all that), I'm pretty much guaranteeing that Project 8 will reinvigorate that love you had. It's shaping up to be a cracking game, and I'm dying to get my hands on the final versions. Digital skating shouldn't look this good."

So is this going to be the one where you skate around doing insane combos, racking up points that never matter and randomly vandalizing the environments, while getting bored after fifteen minutes?
Oh man I can't wait for this one!
So can I punch people this time around?

As opposed to those shooters were you clear entire rooms looking for keys and quicksave/loading every few minutes right? ;) You can make any game look trivial and boring in such a nearsighted description.
The Tony Hawk games are great arcade-like fun. I don't know what you mean by 'points don't matter' considering they have objective based singleplayer, you don't just skate around randomly you know.
Personally I couldn't care much unless there is going to be a PC port, I don't want a 360. They screwed PC users on the last game, so I'm not holding my breath.

Well, at least shooters have variation in theme and gimmicks..
The Tony Hawk series is basically the same exact game with more tricks and better graphics.. it's almost as bad as the football games they churn out year after year.

Soon they'll just be called "Tony Hawk: 2007"

Cool...I liked the last one better than THUG2. I hope this one brings a lot of newness to the table. I doubt I'll pick it up though because Im not getting any next-gen consoles.

Not really. If you played the games instead of instantly dismissing them you would know. Sometimes they changed the mechanics/goals radically per game, sometimes to their detriment. This one, according to the previews, seems to be more faithful to THPS4 with more emphasis on skating and less story. I'm welcoming the change.

Ah yes, if the game would go more the way of THPS4 in way of improvement and spirit it'd be great. I still go back and play THPS4 because it was just awesome.

really looking forward to this one. Looks like what THAW should've been.
I already know the soundtrack will blow, though :(

I have played the games, and from that experience I made my prediction.

My bit with THPS is that I have no where to skate, and its something I want to do, so this is as close as I can get.

Almost, except for the getting bored part.

Not really, once again you are just assuming. You've tried them all? The game mechanics change radically in each game, except perhaps from THUG1-2 which is why it upset people. However I could make an arguement that all shooters are only slightly tweaked, which is untrue. Same goes for Tony Hawk, if you played each game through you'd easily tell they are different.
Thats why when I first played THUG I didn't like it, the mechanics were too different to me. Now that I've gotten used to it I can't go back to THPS4.
Seriously though you are making statements as if every game is exactly the same, when clearly they aren't. Also remember as I said you don't just skate randomly - you have objective based gameplay. Some of us actually find that challenging and fun you know, we don't just play around in Free Skate mode.

Actually this reminds me nothing about THPS4.
Rather THPS2.
Ive played and completed all the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 is still my favourite! After that it has sort of gone a little bit downhill...
This looks like it could be real cool thou.
