I got a pc w/Abit Kd7-g m.o. that's been crap, rma's several times, still crap, just messes up regularly & quickly. Throwing it out.

Want replace with best choice of motherboard (I think one w/pci express for a good video card) & athlon 64 (Not up on 64fx, or 64 2...update me on this if you would, I don't want to have to spend hours researching all this. Already spent way too much time yesterday.) Not up on nforce4 boards either much, nor the athlon 64........& just what all is really that good & actually does make a big performance difference. ????????????

1. What m.o. should I get. Prefer one (not newest) that a great value (gone down in price now but still a great board.)?

2. And which athlon 64 should I get?

3. And what kind of RAM has to go with that?

4. And then the video card?
Here's a Newegg one, sounds good, has 5 stars, the 12 reviewers all raved about it. I'm definitely not up on all the wide range of all these cards now.

What about this one (& good enough compared to the others, for value, & really all I would need?)

Thanks for any help!

5. P.S. Also, wanted to find out for back up purposes, which is faster, better, just using a LAN w/those reg plug in cables..............or USB 2 hdd hookup for an external hdd?

6. And any great deals on a regular, large hard drive, for back up purposes?
