I'm thinking it'd be neat to see what we can come up with in our own trailers for our favorite games.
RULES
- must be in-game video only, no movie/game crossovers
- can use gameplay footage and/or customized footage (i.e. Garry's Mod, etc.)
- must use original game music/score, or your very own
How Do I Record?
Shareware:
- Fraps (http://www.fraps.com) (shareware 30 seconds limited)
- FastCapPro (http://www.ejoystudio.com/products/fastcappro/index.htm)
*FRAPS tip: If you find recording is stuttering or terribly slow, turn off Anti-Aliasing in your game, and it helps to lower the recording resolution in the options menu of FRAPS.
How Do I Edit?
If you don't have a preferred video editor, use Windows Movie Maker, it usually comes pre-installed with XP, or is available as a free Windows Update. XP Service Pack 2 has MM 2.0, which is a worthy improvement upon the original MM. If you have SP 2 but MM is not installed (this happened with me), then you should try the following:
NOTE: You must be logged on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group in order to perform this procedure.
Click Start, click Run, and then type the following command:
%systemroot%\inf
NOTE: There are no spaces at all in the preceding command line.
Click OK to open the INF folder, locate the file moviemk.inf
Right-click the file, and then click Install. This will reinstall the files that Search needs to proceed normally.
You will be asked to place your windows XP cd rom in the drive.
In case that doesn't work, I found this link (as of 10/09/2006):
http://xstream.nwoca.org/downloads/windows/mm20enu.exe 12 MB
Where Do I Host?
Use http://www.youtube.com
