View Full Version : Requesting updated 3DR Nav-menu for Firefox v2.0

Just recently i got the new version of Firefox, but it appeared after the installation that my old extensions were not compitable with the new version...
I'm not aware if enough people have even updated yet, so that's why i made a thread instead of a PM as a request, to see if there are other people who'd want this...
That's all, i hope there'll be one... the need to type in the destination is getting annoying if visiting the boards as often as i do :D the Nav-menu is a really nice addition
Yeah it won't work on 2.0 because the plugin doesn't say it supports that version. As I told you last time you asked I will update it but I've been VERY busy lately to even look into this.

Ah yes, i requested this befiore, but this time it's about a 2.0 version ;)
Just so when you do make a new version, that it won't only work on the previous versions, in case you missed the update (though, it's obvious that you do know about it now)
Anyways, i'm not trying to rush you with this second request or anything... i'm just reminding you that a 2.0 version would be great :cool:
I'm looking forward to it, whenever it might be done...
Yeah well I posted in the 2.0 thread that I was using 2.0 so of course I would make it compatible with 2.0 and lower versions :)

As a temporary fix you could try this..
Firstly visit the page where the download is Linky (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1393/) then right click save link to disc (gem link til disk) and save it to your desktop (Skrivebordet)
Open it in winzip... When its opened
find the install.rdf and double click it to open it..
notepad will open
Find this line and replace it with 2.0+
<em:maxVersion>1.6</em:maxVersion>
Close notepad and click yes to save changes..
Winzip will tell you the file has changed and ask if you want to update the archive with the new file
Accept the change
Open firefox and drag the file onto the window where the webpages gets displayed install like normal
now it should work..
ill test it myself to see if it works
EDIT:
It works..
now go do it..
EDIT 2: I decided to add the updated file but the fix works with other plugins so ill let the guide stay there..

I fideled around with the plugin code and made a repackaging of it
With ADMs permission id gladly upload it..
heres the changes..
+Fixed not being able to install in Firefox 2.0
+Removed Link to Fnord Board
Id gladly make more and Help ADM with the coding..
If you want me to that is.. Ill even see if i can add P0stwh0rez to the plugin

Yeah, add in Postwhores, but since it's a seperate board, it probably needs to be designated differently.
Go nuts. You can take over the plugin but make sure you register on the firefox plugin site and upload it through there as well.

But well ill still credit you ADM.. Only honerable thing to do i mean you made it im just updating a little..

EDIT: slight problem.. when i try to upload the new file to firefox extensions it says im not allowed to... I figure this is to prevent people from stealing other peoples work.. right?? ive Pmed ADM about it so he can upload the new version
