Hello,
I'm new to this forum and I'm sorry if this is well known thing.. I downloaded DN3D source code from 3drealms.com which claims to be 1.5 version. But after compilation I see it's 1.4! Quick look to game.c confirms it: #define VERSION "1.4".. What is interesting extras/game.c file contains 1.5 already...
my question is therefore: it's really 1.4 source code? Since 1.5 version bugfixes some bad things I see in my build (slowness bug, mighty-foot bug)..
Thanks for any hint :)

No, the released code doesn't have the kick-with-both-feet bug as far as I know.

The main bug that the 1.5 patch fixed was the game not running if you had a certain amount of RAM. A lot of the files likely still say 1.4. The CON files still say 1.4, for that matter.

hmmm... so what? it's really 1.4? Strange.. So that means somewhere in 3D Realms is/was compilable source code with #defined 1.5 version... what about that extras/game.c file? (which says its 1.5)

Isn't 1.4 plutonium pack and 1.5 atomic edition? (I think my atomic edition disk even says when installing something about 1.5)

Plutonium Pack upgraded from 1.3d to 1.4.
The original Atomic Edition CDs, released at the same time as PP, would have directly installed 1.4.
Atomic Edition CDs released AFTER the 1.5 patch would have directly installed 1.5. (I'm not sure when the PP was discontinued relative to the 1.5 patch, so I don't know if there's a PP CD that would have upgraded 1.3d->1.5)

um... I thought that:
v1.3d was original duke
v1.4 was the upgraded plutonium pak version (also called platnium) with a few more bugfixes
v1.5 was the 1.4 with bugfixes known as the atomic edition

Also in 1.5 the Editart can edit 4000+ tiles positions.

The "Plutonium Pak" was the name OF the upgrade pack. It was released for people who ALREADY HAD Duke Nukem 3D v 1.3d purchased. It upgraded the original to "Atomic Edition" (Ie: You stick a "pack" of Plutonium into Duke Nukem thereby making it "Atomic") (I've never heard it refered to as "Platinum", and the Duke3D page by 3DR doesn't mention it either)
The "Atomic Editon" was Duke Nukem 3D v1.3d + Plutonium Pak together on one CD for people who DIDN'T have the original already.
At the time of release, BOTH versions would have installed as v1.4. There was no difference in the end-result of installing 1.3d and then Plutonium Pak or installing Atomic Edition directly.
The 1.4->1.5 patch was released some time later, and was used regardless of if you had 1.3 + Plutonium or Direct-AE. (Since, as I said, both resulted in having v 1.4)
