Buying Max Payne from 3D Realms

I am from India.I am thinking of buying Max Payne online from the 3D realms store as a localised version with a non English manual only is sold.
If so am I assured that I will get a good CD.Are the CDs tested for defects before being shipped as it costs a lot to send back a defective product through courier to USA.

Well, as a general rule, they shouldn't be defective. But it could be that the delivery boys damage the CD. Or it could be that your CD drive doesn't happen to like SafeDisk. Anything could happen. It's a risk you have to take if you want the original version.

You could try and find a retailer that imports the US version to India. It may be a bit safer to order thru them, since you can return the CD to them if it's defective, instead of having to send it to USA.

Thanks for ur help anyway.I have played games like POP3D which use Safedisc protection without any problem.

I have found that no retailer imports the US version.The label on the CD itself says "For sale in India only".

If I order from the 3D realms store,the product is shipped by First Class Mail.How safe is it??Is it the same as courier??

Should be. Pretty much all DVDs I order from USA arrive intact.

I dunno how the local Indian mailmen treat the packages, though. images/icons/smile.gif

I read that the packages shipped outside USA are sent by First Class Mail.Is it the same as a courier? Can u tell me what it is?

How many days will it take for the package to reach by First Class Mail.

I can't tell you because I don't know what "courier" means in your country.

Courier is where u pay extra postal charge for the package depending on the weight and destination and gets sent in a much shorter time.The person who receives the package shall sign an acknowledge slip on delivery of the package.

Is this how you ship your international orders?
