It's quite frustrating never having found a good DN3D art editor.
I tried Dukeres and GRPStudio, but they seem to be just viewers.
I opened up my DN1.3D CD and tried EDITART, but I couldn't find how to export/import.
I was wondering how you guys did your custom textures and whatnot,
or if there's any convenient way to import/export textures into the games .ART files.

If you want to use 8 bit, then use Bastart, if you want to use high resolution tiles, use the command Dummytile as explained here:

I'm slowly resurrecting RTCM in a hopefully easy-to-navigate and popup-free edition, or else I'd have a bunch of files and docs to link to. As it is, I slapped my old DOS Editart Guide back online (needs some formatting tweaks yet).

I'm partial to Wally, but I vaguely remember it having some quirks.

Editart is probably the best DN3D art editor; in combination with photoshop for larger things. To export tiles press F12, it'll create a capt### file in your dukenukem dir of the tile you exported. To import press u, and scroll to the file you want to import. To make sure it'll get imported at the right size it helps to create a large blank tile first (s, and then 512x512), if you import the file then it'll automaticly get downsized to the correct size.

I'm surprised he's even able to run Editart. It's never worked on XP Pro or Home for me. Have to use DOSBox just to make it start up, and then half the keys don't work.

Really? It runs perfectly here, with the exception of sound from other programs (firefox or mediaplayer) cracking and screwing up.

From the very start of useing DN3D v. 1.4/1.5, i had to use the Editart from "Sadow Warrior".
But lately I started having problems and started useing the Editart that came with Eduke 2.1.1. It also allows you to creat art tiles way beyond tiles023.art
