Well I've applied to:

University of Oregon, Lewis and Clark, Willamette, Texas Tech, Baylor, Northwestern (by accident) Seattle University.

I wont know for a few months if/where I am accepted.

My first choice is Oregon, I kind of want a change in scenery and Oregon offers a lot of what I enjoy doing for fun (outdoor things).

I am not really sure what exactly I want to practice, maybe criminal or environmental.

A criminal law degree and knowing spanish can get you a job just about anywhere in the US. Especially well-paying government/state jobs.

Well as far as law is concerned "Especially well-paying government/state jobs" arent exactly well paying when compared to the private sector. State/federal jobs range from 35 to 60k/year. While Private sector jobs typically range from 60k to 125k/year starting.

Yeah, but you are forgetting the paid time off, yo. Plus the 80+ hours a week intern lawyers job. Plus the lack of responsibilities. Plus the amount of non-tax-free status. Plus the pension. Plus a job paid for by tax payers. Plus a union job. Plus low work for good pay.

Hey ICR, work hard for that money. Plus, you went to Texas Tech. Big bump there.

I'm contemplating on whether goto college for a political science degree, or go for some film studies.

There are many things that interest me about both. Politics has always been one of my "favorite" things to learn and read about, and to discuss. Then again, my fathers' been in the film industry for awhile now and the interest/skills there have seemed to pass down through genetic trait. I've always wanted to get into film editing, and learn/indulge into the aspects of film direction, script writing and dialogue, plot points, etc.

I've heard the political science degree is pretty useless though. In high school my business executive teacher told me that I'd be more suited in law as an attorney because I was good at bullshitting my "higher-ups" (teachers and administrative people) into believing whatever I said, but I don't know if i'm ready to give six years of my life for that. It's something I have alittle interest in and am possibly good at, but it probably isn't what I want to do for the rest of my life.

If I could choose my "perfect" career guideline, I'd go: Law, Film, Journalism, Politics.

That way by the time I'm older and want to throw my hand into the political ring, I'd have a lifetime worth of experience and realization to look into.

I applied (and will most likely get) a job in the telefunding department of my university. Which means I call alumni and ask them for money. I aced the interview, and the job sounds fun.

Makes me sad, because I love GameStop. I love everyone I work with. But... man, five hours a week? That's just not cutting it. Plus, this job will give me an automatic fifty cent raise.

Several thousand years ago, when I got my first teaching job, my boss flat out told me that the reason they hired me over the other applicants was because I had over a year experience at the same telemarketing office. It's apparently the ultimate badge of ability for jobs requiring "people skills," and that's a notion I heard echoed by HR staff throughout my working years as both employee and business owner. So stick around as long as you can, it will do your resume a huge favor in the longrun.

Also, I'm still retired. :)

It's complicated.

I'll be done soon though, roughly 4 weeks and I'm all done! Hoping to get into Game Development then, not sure what exactly (designer sounds like my thing though) or where to start. But I'm sure things will turn out allright.

I'm still in the same position as what I mentioned earlier, though lately they've added several things under my job title that I shouldn't and can't manage, such as inventory/product price updating. Considering the number of vendors we have, that alone can be enough for a full-time job. And yet, I've only been given a raise of no more and no less than a quarter more per hour. It also doesn't help that my boss randomly goes out of town while I'm in the middle of working on a project that requires his explicit approval, and when I pitch my own marketing ideas to him, they get shot completely down, even if it uses part of his own ideas. As an example, right now I'm trying to convince him that RSS is a safer method than sending out bulk e-mails that results in our e-mail system getting screwed up for weeks on end, or, alternatively, spending thousands on having someone else send the e-mails without even using our subscription database, and with the additional catch that we have to give this company permission to use the e-mail database to send other promotions to them. Add to all of this that, ironically, I work in a Christian company, and lately my already jaded opinion of Christians has become sour.

Well, that dream came true. I had a sales job for just over three months before I got fired. Not due to redundancy but for general incompetence. :)

Then I landed an IT job with the same company but I got the sack today. Only had it for three/four weeks. Reason for the sack: you guessed it, redundancy. Worsening economic conditions, bla, bla, bla. Meh.

Still don't understand much of what my Indian co-workers say, but the important thing with them is that they're generally upbeat and don't take the job too seriously, even when it gets really hectic. I've learned that's real important in fast-food service.

I find that foreigners are usually quite understanding and patient when you are unable to understand what they're saying. Indians especially since there are like 15 languages spoken over there. I imagine that they are quite used to language barriers.

I know this because I majored in math, and I also have worked tech support. As a result I have tons of experience with Indians.
