Have you carved a pumpkin that is 3D Realms related? We'd love to see it. If you have, send in some pictures of it, and we'll get them posted to the "fan stuff" page (which will undergo a big overhaul in December).

It's brilliant! I like how this person shaved the pumpkin down in layers in order to get the right light and shadow on the face.

And no, I haven't carved any pumpkins this year for Halloween.

The JT pumpkin is the perfect one to put explosives in, then feed the rest to the hungry animals. :D But the ones Joe showed are great. Oldies, but goodies.

For the last few years I've posted on here about my various adventures in my family's Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest. Regrettably, we didn't have one this year for a variety of reasons.

Probably the biggest factor was that I've moved to California for a new job, so it wasn't really feasible to come back for a Pumpkin Contest. Even if I had, my Dad's out of town for the whole week on a business trip, and my brother-in-law Caleb is totally swamped working on his PhD. So, it just didn't work out this year.

My wife and I still carved a couple simple pumpkins, mine's on the left and hers is on the right.

We both spent about 90 minutes from start to finish, which is a far cry from the 20 or even 30 hours I've spent before on a carving. :insomnia:

No clue what will happen next year, but I'm sure at some point we'll have one more even if I have to fly back for it. The next one marks our tenth competition so it would be a shame to stop at nine ;) Regardless, Caleb and my Dad owe me two costumes of my choice and I plan to collect.... eventually :)

i carved one many years ago didnt turn out so good :(
my pumpkin looked like a crack addict who got punched in the face and got some of his
tooth knocked out.
