Thanksgiving weekend I am having a LAN gathering with some of my old buddies and we want to play some of the older games we played years ago. Two of our favorites back in the day were Duke 3D and Blood. Playing Duke won't be a problem due to the windows ports, but Blood however.....

I have three different settings for Blood and none of them seem to work well enough for network play. Here is what I have.

Method 1: VDMSound

This method seems to work best from following instructions from the "Build on XP" page, but the biggest problem is laggy controls. The game itself runs fine, but when I press the buttons on the keyboard it takes a whole second for the command to process

Method 2: DosBox

DosBox is running Blood so slow that it is almost unplayable, but the network still works

Method 3: Nolfb

my last resort is running the original DOS version with no emulators and using Ken's nolfb, but I can't get sound or network to work in this mode.

So all of my methods have their ups and downs, and I can't seem to get one working well enough to play Blood.

Please someone help! Does anyone know the best possible way to get network games of Blood running on XP? Yes, I admit that I am a noob, and before you ask, I have two computers so I can test the network games.

And I also refuse to use Kali or Transfusion.

If anyone can please help in anyway please tell me. I'll do something to help in return, I promise!
