Need help running Dukester X

Sorry if a million of these are made daily, but I couldn't find any on any recent pages. So I'm trying to run Dukester X with the Rancidmeat port using xDuke, but I still cause a problem when people try to launch games.

I'm supposed to use my external IP, but apparently I also need to have firewall "off", disabling me from using my external link. I don't know if that is the only problem, so if anybody knows what to do, I'd appreciate knowing! Also something to know about me; I'm not a computer savvy guy, I just want to do whats needed to get these things working, so apologies if I don't understand any of your guys responses at first. ;)

Never used Dukester X but I am Network Support for a living. Are you having a problem with your firewall not allowing users in? If so, just enable port forwarding on your router (this will take some reading as to which ports Dukester uses) A good test would be to plug yourself directly into the cable/dsl modem and see if you are still getting the problem like that, if not, then you need to configure your router as stated above.

FYI - Your external IP is basically your IP if you didn't have a router and your PC was plugged up directly to the cable/dsl modem. It's the IP that the internet co assigns you. Your router just uses it as a gateway and assigns its own internal IP addresses.

Again, I'm not quite sure what the problem is exactly so hope that helps a little.
