For whatever reason, Vista seems to treat every singe damn folder like it contained music. What I mean by this is the details the explorer window chooses to show are ALL relavent to music whether or not the folder contains any media. Details such as Artist, Rating, Album and Track # appear in every folder, like Duke3D and Doom's folders, not just My Music. Also, apparently random, some folders contain details relavent to pictures (Resolution, Date Taken, etc.).

How can I change this to look like XP (Name Date Type and Size) without going to every folder individually?

Also, can I make it like XP where folders containing music or pictures will have details relevent to them not just the usual things? (ie, if there is a magic "Apply to every folder everywhere reguardless of contents" type button, I want music folders to still show Artist, Album, etc)

You could right click in a high level folder and select Customise.
Choose "All items" from the drop down list and tick "Apply this template to all sub folders".

Then "Apply" of course..

When I right click I see no 'Customize' option.

You have to do it in a folder, you cannot do it in C:\ or any other drive. You must enter a folder first.

Ohhh!! I thought you meant right-clicking the actual folder's icon

That does help a bit, but still I have to do it to a lot of folders
