Hi Folks,

My name is Mark H. Walker (www.markhwalker.com). I'm a long time gaming journalist. I'm currently writing a book titled "Games That Sell!" It is a book about what makes games that sell, sell. Ten of the chapters look at the best selling games from 2001. Max Payne is one of those games. I'm looking for players, designers... whoe ever, to answer a handful of interview questions. The questions are below. Please email the answers to Mark@markhwalker.com. Thanks! Credit will be given in the book's credits.
**Interview Questions**
1. Do you feel Max Payne was well publicized?
2. Was there much "buzz" surrounding the game's release?
3. What generated that buzz?
4. What is the game's coolest feature?
5. What is the game's defining moment?
6. Do you feel Payne is a quality game? Why?
7. What do you think of the story and script?
8. Would Payne's success prompt you to buy Remedy's next game?

1. No. The game was under a "media blackout" until it neared release.
2. There was in fact "buzz."
3. The buzz was generated by the game's defiant originality, which is:
4. BULLET TIME. The ability to engage in a cinematic slow-motion whenever desired.
5. The game's defining moment is, Max Payne engages in slow motion and performs an array of stunts, saving his hide while eliminating the opposition.
6. This is a quality game. Every aspect of it is well-polished; its only flaw is its lack of multiplayer, which is made up for by a fantastic single-player game.
7. The script is well-written, and is standard action-movie fare.
8. I would most definitely buy their next game.
