I'm unable to connect to Windows LIVE. I have a Windows LIVE ID and while trying to connect to the account it tries to download an update. Unfortunately it's unable to do so:

"Can’t download the update" etc.

Says about checking the internet connection. When I update manually it doesn't connect to Windows Live, it says that the Live serivce is offline. I check the status of Live and is says it's online.

I think it has something to do with my internet connection. Did everything it's written here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937379

but it still doesn't work.

Please help:insomnia:

Doesn't this belong in the Gears of war PC (http://forums.3drealms.com/vb/showthread.php?t=27540) thread?

Back to topic, I don't know anything about windows live, because I have XP. XP rocks.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't windows live a vista thing only?

Yeah thats helpful :\ No it isn't, Live is attached to Gears of War whether you are on Vista or XP.

EDIT - Actually that link to download on the page is the same one I used. Hmm...

You tried to manually install (option 3 in the MS support)? What happened? Did it install correctly?

A few things:

- the obvious: latest drivers, latest updates for GOW etc,
- remove as many things as possible from your startup.
- Disable your antivirus on-access protection (this helped get around a checkpoint freeze).

Gah, after a few days I came to the conclusion my network adapter configuration is f*cked up. It can't connect to the DHCP server, no default gateway shown etc etc I think that's the problem.

Problem is I have no idea how to fix it  I can connect to the internet etc. but I still get the limited or no connectivity error message. Can someone help me with this one? Was looking for a solution all over net, but the ppl usually have no internet connection at all etc.

:Edit:

F*ck it. Trying to set this s*it up took me almost a week. The hell with this goddamn game.
