You know the deal. Post what you plan to resolve by the end of 2008.

I resolve to take off some of this weight I'm carrying around and I'm hoping to become a manager at my job... (though this might be reaching a little too high)

...what about you?

To get back into improving my life, by getting out more -- be they Japanese classes or speed dating. So I won't be able to post here so much... don't all cheer at once :tinyted:

Why bother, none of it ever comes true. By the end of 2008 I hope to have some sort of grasp on what I want to go back to college for. However I sense it isn't going to happen.

I don't make resolutions.

I continue to live my life and try to be happy and make good decisions. But not everything is within my control.

10.) Your resolution is?
meeting all my goals

09.) You look forward to?
a girl I know ;), having money, half-payment towards car, being generous, new friends, fun late night outings, creative/music accomplishments

08.) In Quarter 1 (Jan-March), you hope:
I'll have been working and thus have money to spend weekend with girl, finishing a rouge fireproject, paying off a debt that's not my fault, buying a new wardrobe, having a cellphone again!

07.) Q2 (April-June), you hope:
bought a mic and preamp to do some proper acoustic and possibly vocal recording

06.) Q3 (July-Sept), you hope:
not sure yet, honestly

05.) Q4 (Oct-Dec), you hope:
have half of what I need towards a used Impreza

04.) 3 keywords for 2008?
progress, change, success

03.) If next year could be a different year, which and why?
2006, stayed at my job and looked for different work while still there, and continued that next job

02.) How old will you be?
26

01.) 10 years ago (1998) - anything significant?
I'd been playing (electric) guitar for about a year, I guess

If you've only been smoking for two days I really doubt it'll be that hard to quit ;)

Just kidding man, I know what you mean. Hopefully i'll be able to kick the habit this year as well.

Tang Lung's plans for 2008

Get a better job and earn more money.
Not be as much of a neurotic freak.
Not screw up and lose my girlfriend.
Scrap every plan and career ambition I have and just have fun, because life is too short and cruel to care.

Heh...it'll be interesting to look back on this thread in 2009. We have a lot to live up to :) And for people saying they don't make resolutions you just have to put the word "resolution" into perspective. There's a stigma attached to the word where most people get defensive because they fear they're playing around with fate or false hopes.

If I was to ask, 'What are your goals this year?' or 'What will you be doing this week?' is that really any different? It's all just a plan in your head of what you'll be doing or what you'll be getting done...we all know plans sometimes change. :)

ADM

- Quit Smoking (I quit on the 01/01/08 and so far so good, been having cravings but I'm still confident I'll quit).
- Graduate from Uni (Last year left, better not **** it up ;)).
- Save $$$ (I need to buy a house either this year or next one).
- Get a full-time job at the end of the year after uni.
- Meet a girl (Yeah yeah.. I seem to have commitment issues when I meet girls and usually I break things off and push them away. This year I'll hopefully be different ;)).
- Continue my healthy lifestyle and weight training.

That's all :p

I'd be impressed... it makes me sad seeing things like this because, I can't imagine how people our age can afford a ******* house. I always imagine people only being able to get a house when they're in their late 30s/40s.

- Sell a lot of stuff I don't need. (This is going very well)
- Save a lot of money (This is also not much of a problem) I'm saving money to buy a new car in 2010. I'm still struggling to choose between a Mercedes S 320 L and an Audi A8 L.
- Doing whatever I can to make the upcoming moving to aboard as smooth as possible (Now this could be interesting.) Yeah I'm leaving the Netherlands in July this year.
- Don't get killed.

Mine will be a small house but won't be an apartment or anything like that. All I need is to save up $20,000 and I can get a loan for the rest. I've already got $10,000 so halfway there ;)

Well, getting married is my ultimate objective at the moment. But a mate I met at my last job is luring me back into the world of pick-up. I did a couple of balls approaches last time I went out and am looking forward to doing more and watching my confidence build. I figure that even though picking up is not as good as having a long term girlfirend or wife, it's better than staying home by myself (at least for me anyway). Also, pick-up can lead to getting a girlfriend anyway, and the skills and confidence I obtain through practice will ensure I won't be stuck with some bitch I won't find attractive ten plus years down the track. Plus, it's fun! :D

Me:
- Quit cigarettes. FOREVER this time. 2 weeks down. So far so good.
- Lose the extra weight. Combined with the above this one will be a b***h.
- Don't f**k up Uni. I'm in my first year. Again.
- Direct my first short film. So far I worked enough in the industry to know how to do it. I. Just. Gotta'. Do. IT.
- Start learning French.
- Continue learning French.
- Find another girlfriend that I can abuse.
- Stop acting like a dick. And get my attitude straight.

Wait, did I just write that? Ah hell, I'm not editing it. No regrets.

Well I really didn't think about any new years resolutions, but since I've now finished my job I've got some things in my mind with what I'd like to do:

- I'm thinking about joining the gym within the next couple of weeks, so putting on weight is a goal for me this year. 10Kg would be a nice figure to aim for.
- Growing up. It's seriously time I thought about going somewhere with regards to a career, so I'll start looking soon into what I'd like to study.
- Actually being more active and sociable, and meeting new people (women of course ;)). About time I get around to doing that.

That's some goals to go for I think. :)

P.s. Power to all the people who are giving up smoking this year! I have a mate who is on his tenth day tomorrow, so I hope it goes well for all those who are trying.

Not really resolutions... but Bon and I are making small changes for a better life down the road. She's invested in a retirement fund, we both attempting to save back money and pay off current debt.

We've got a good life, don't want a house so we'll keep renting for now... at least until we decide were we want to move finally.
