Heya.
I'm working on this space station map. Now, there is an inner cabin and a large pipe which leads to he deck of the station. Now, i could use a normal elevator which would lead from the inside to the outside, but that is very boring images/icons/tongue.gif

So, i was thinking about making it when you jump into the pipe from under, it would suck you out and shoot you into the air (into the outer portion of the map).

Now, that would be rather easy to do, but the problem is... I want to make the players be able to drop down into the pipe to the cabin without getting shot out.

Is there any i can have zone do gravity if moving in one direction? So they can float down to the cabin, but get pulled when jumping back into the pipe?

If not, anyone have some good suggestions for the player to access the inside and out in a creative way?

Maybe you could use a JumpPad or a Kicker?

Are you using Unreal or UT?

UT

I've never really set up a Kicker or Jumppad before. How would I do so and make it work? images/icons/smile.gif

Here's a map I made the uses a Kicker. (http://worldzone.net/art/jrbobdobbs//testkicker.zip) You can set the X Y and Z directions of the "Kick" seperately from each other.
Normally the Players own movement speed and direction is added to the Kick, but you can set the Kicker to force a Player to jump in a particular direction (like a QuakeIII kicker)

Enjoy. images/icons/smile.gif
