I drew the complete upper body for the Alien in my profile now... Now when people with higher resolutions look at it, and the pic moves further to the right, only most of the body should be hidden, while the head still should show... Which is of course all that really counts...

I believe you can turn horizontal repeating off...

otherwise you can always add a bunch of black at the right of your image and reupload it. That way it won't repeat unless you have some uber sick resolution :)

It seems not to support the width, so that's why i had to use the horizontal repeat to build up behind it, else it would automatically be resized into something smaller... and it wants to hise the text all the time for some reason...

Anyways, i THINK it's fixed now... Widescreens shouldn't make it look strange, and the Alien has a body too, i resized the Font to something much smaller

Its a scientific provabillity that dark with light text is better for the eyes then a white field with dark text. As Maddox once said, "would you stare into a bright lightbulb for hours?". Dig the look of your profile, good use of soft shades.

Well, I actually made some changes in my profile. You might take a look but it looks like shit compared to some of the profiles I checked. It was really primarily to abreact some stuff I had (and have) to deal with.

It was initially flame based but it turned into this sick, putrid whatever the hell it is after more and more elements begun to make less sense everytime I looked at them. Many things need attention (text colours) but I haven't decided whether I will fix them and keep the look or start over.

True. They come from Risen3D, modification for Doomsday. Temporary. I'm gonna paint my own background sometime soon to make it more personal. At the same time I'm gonna add some albums and a proper profile picture.

There are few textures like that. There's one with lots of bloody heads, a bright wall of screaming faces and the one that's used in intermission screen (guess you mean the second one). I love them too and wish they'd bring them back for DOOM 4.

By the way, yesterday I made some changes in my profile and I have to say that this is the first time the whole thing starts looking coherent. Also I'm thinking about changing the tentacles background to intermission screen (http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/7712/facepa8.jpg) I mentioned above. Red faces surface helps to make the entire design a little less over-detailed but tentacles look awesome and connect flawlessly.

Quick, somewhat off-topic question:
I could never find a proper Doom texture reference site I could point to, but this one will do.
I can't find it through the "textures" pull-down menu, so I can't link it directly, but if you use the "patches" pull-down, you can find an "skspine1" texture.
Is it just me, or did I see basically the same texture in Tomb Raider: Legend near the beginning in Bolivia on the walls?
It can be found around the parts where a bad guy talks about a crazy monkey jumping at him, or something like that, making me cautious near those walls, since some had openings of some sort.

I made slight updates to my Profile... The marine Dog Tag is now black and white to match the color setting of the Alien, and the Ice Planet on my blog page was making the text half way unreadable because of the planet's white top... I have flipped it vertically, so that the shadow of the planet stays on top, and thereby makes the text perfectly readable

Haven't made any changes to my profile itself but as some people might have noticed, I keep an active DOOM 4 album and yesteday I added another one, focused on the upcoming Linkin Park album. I do this for fun and so I haven't thought about actually mentioning it specifically on the forum but I might as well do it since it's related to the profile.

The DOOM album contains most of the info that we've been given so far as well as stuff that only fanatics would find interesting like the list of people working on the new DOOM that I've been able to gather.

I created the Linkin Park album because I thought it'd be cool to have some info and quotes about the new record since that's my favourite band. I know how most people out here feel about that band (they either hate it or don't care for it) so creating a thread about the new album this early containing only stuff like scraps of info without anything to actually back it up (music itself) would spawn nothing but (hate) comments about how "commercial" and "boysband-like" the band is (:rolleyes:). So I think that I may create a thread about their fourth album when they start sharing the new music so that people have something to talk about, even if they don't like it and for now I'll just keep an album with info and stuff. While the DOOM album is pretty much as it was meant to be, the LP one is still work-in-progress, I'm not sure what I want it to be. Both are and will be updated irregulary, basically as the new stuff comes.

Not sure if anyone else tried to use the album feature the way I did and I'm not sure if this serves any purpose but it's pretty fun anyway. :)
