The buttons in my attached pic, if I right click the Command Bar and goto Add or Remove Commands I can take off all but the 2 left-most buttons (the "Add to Favorites" and "Favorites Center" buttons), but upon restarting IE they come back, plus I don't want the other 2 you can't get rid of either! I don't want that crap, is there a way to get rid of the Command Bar period???

To be honest, the IE7 interface sucks. You should consider getting Firefox. :D

Yeah really, what ended up happening is that I had 90+ updates for XP waiting and IE7 was hiding in the mix... I got rid of the tabbed browsing at least...

EDIT: Reg hack FTW! Adding a simple key to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\CommandBar, add a new REG_DWORD and call it Enabled and set it to 0 kills the Command Bar...

Yeah, what the hell happened to the "reload page" and "stop loading page" buttons!?

They are still there, up sandwiched between the URL bar and IE's "search engine" textbox...

Other than the quick access to open a new tabbed browser window, I think MS really screwed up the IE7 interface. The other thing that really annoys me is that for some reason you can't resize the URL input field. Such a waste of space. I used to shrink that puppy down and put a bunch of other stuff at the same leve, but now you don't have that option. Who the hell needs to see anything beyond the domain name 99% of the time? I really don't care that the current page I'm typing on is "http://forums.3drealms.com/vb/showthread.php?t=30527".

"Ohhhh, it's '/vb/showthread.php?t=30527' as opposed to '/vbshowthread.php?t=30589'. Well, that explains everything."

Dumb.
