I'm probably the only one here who is really excited about this and doesn't care that they're probably gonna milk it to the last drop. :D

I like the sims. I'm pretty excited too. i spent hours on this site www.7deadlysims.com downloading mods and objects people made for the game

Personally I hope that Seasons, Nightlife, FreeTime, and University are core instead of expansions.

Would be nice... but who knows. I enjoy watching Bon play the game, some of the shit that happens is pretty damn funny.

With the release of FreeTime I'm hooked on Sims 2 again. But I feel that most of these concepts are core changes and minor ones that kinda feel like they should've been there from the start. Atleast they should be from the start in Sims 3. BFFs might be dumb but gameplay wise they are nice.

I recently got The Sims Complete Collection, which is the original game plus all seven expansions for $40. Maybe by the time get tired of it, The Sims 2 Complete Collection will be for sale. :D

That's what I was hoping for at some point with Sims2 as well... Sims1 my sister kept buying me the expansions, so I didn't spend any money there...

But there was sex in Sims 2.

I hope they ditch the grid system, or at the very least let us put junk in diagonal.
I also hope pets, seasons, real basements, and owning cars are in the original game w/o expansions.

Assuming $50 for the original game and $30 to $40 for each expansion, I figure I saved about $300 with the Complete Collection.

No doubt it'll follow what 1 and 2 did, "basic" sims with expansions released periodically. The sims is pretty good, nothing I can get hooked on though.
Can't see anything, besides graphics, being improved in this one.

Pretty self explanatory.

Funny, this info comes out right on my birthday. Normally It seems like nothing is released on my birthday. Pretty excited about it though, I have The Sims 2, and I enjoyed it.

Just hope that they make some of the stuff from the expansion packs for the Sims 2 mandatory in the core game for The Sims 3. Especially University and Seasons. (I hated the boring same weather every day)

Sims 2 improved on everything from Sims 1. Better Sims, more options for interactions, more depth, like aging and wants for example.

Yeah that's what I thought with The Sims 2. :)

Sims 2 improved on everything though so I don't know how you can think that. I'm hoping they'll add more interactions, maybe make days a tad longer or prehaps add more dynamics. Personally I'd love to be able to make like a band in the Sims and have gigs or prehaps assemble a sports team and just have that as a big interaction. Would be fantastic.

I bought the Sims 2 recently and am sick of it already. Hardly played it as a matter of fact. :(

True Sims 2 has it's new features and what not, but what I meant was that it didn't include stuff like pets and rockstar. They just didn't include stuff from the expansion packs that made Sims 1 more fun.

Yeah, there's a preview for Sims 3 in the latest issue of Games for Windows. Looks pretty good, not the graphical leap that Sims 2 was of The Sims.

It looks like Sims 2.5 in ways, but some environments look really impressive. Bon is very excited for it... as am I. I like watching her play.....

.... and killing the sims.

The new open seamless neighborhood sounds fantastic, and finally we can customized every object, I hated having something available in only one color.
It still looks like it's on a grid system though, but at least things can finally be put diagonal!

I wanted that FPS mode in every single RCT game there was.

And RCT 3 only had it for those damn coasters.. I wanted to be one of the guests themselves. :(

But somehow I'm also hoping that could be the case for The Sims 3.. I'll see if it ends up being better than Sims 2. No offense, but the models in Sims 2 really turned me off compared to The Sims.
