View Full Version : My UT 2003 map
Well, I've uploaded 1 screenie of my current project. It's hopefully gonna be Syalez Korell's above the sea mansion for Byproduct mod;
in the mean time I'll convert it to 2003 when it appears! images/icons/smile.gif
I know the SS in limited but I'd like most of it to remain a surprise. Besides The maps only about 30% done and the textures aren't final. http://www.woodwardc38.freeserve.co.uk/KorellsOcP.jpg

lookwhatUnotgot.un2<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Sorry, I think that these screenshots you posted are not showing UT2003 editor, because *.un2 files don't exist and even the XIII editing tools don't use this format, as far as I'm concerned. Maybe Epic will call the map files "un2" for Unreal 2, but not for UT2003. They'll be probably use the standard name ".unr". Perhaps they could use "ut2" - which would make sense - but not ".un2" imho.
Sorry pal, you revealed yourself. images/icons/tongue.gif
However, let me tell you that I'm doing the same thing: creating maps with UnrealEd and later converting to UT2003 and DNF aswell. Here's a tip for you: try to not waste time for texturing your map or putting items or weapons inside. Just concentrate on the geometry, because when you export maps to *.t3d format and later import them into the UT2003/XIII editor then all which will be recognized is the geometry only, the rest is trashed. So you'll have to re-texture and populate your map anyway.
P.S. Don't even spend so much time creating high-detailed geometry, because UT2003 will feature a lot of static meshes (prefabs) with which you can decorate your worlds. So keep your maps basic-looking and later make them cool-looking with the new editors.
Nice map, though. Looks like it's going to become a double domination or deathmatch map, right?! images/icons/smile.gif

Eitherway you can use any extension u want, its all customizable u know images/icons/smile.gif .
Hey, thx for the comments! images/icons/smile.gif
Now I never said it was UT2003 Ed, that
screenie is of UnrealED 2.6! images/icons/grin.gif
It has several new features I like, planar aligner is a treat; especially when aligning cylinders.
The textures have been beefed up!
Average texture size is 512x256/512
with some over 1024
It now has a far superior terrain editor
that uses inserted grey scale images.
The aida honey is just that! images/icons/smile.gif
